Slack's latest update just broke the darkify hack. It's 2019, right? It is unbelievable that there is no built-in dark mode for Linux, Mac, or even windows. I mean, they are aware of dark mode. It is available on mobile without trouble. Get it together, slack!

    Windows Linux and Mac have darkmode for their respective native ui toolkits but not for the shitshow that is electron

    @jurion

    Of course, but it's also how my company does 90% of its internal communication, so it's nice not to have my eyes blasted out with a big white screen.

    I'm using a browser with a stylus theme until further notice.

    I would be DELIGHTED if we used IRC, btw.

    It probably broke because they are currently building in dark mode as they have said a few weeks ago...

    UPDATE

    The darkify script still works on Linux.

    I see this all the time! I'm like, 97% sure you could implement a dark theme in under half an hour, and have it setup to save to your account on the backend in another half hour.

    @irene if I'm in a flow, I can code for 4 hours straight. Artists do that too. It's just how the mind works. The best we can do about it is to comfort the body so it isn't as harmful.

    That's why I use slack on chrome and use a plugin to make it dark.
