I was working on windows before, had to do an assignment for a course.
And was stuck on....visual studio python compiler not working.
So I decided to do this.

Welcome to the Linux side 🤓

Welcome to the bright side! You won't regret it.
But, Ubuntu is almost as bloated as Windows (I jumped ship around 11.04). Check out Arch or similar when you get comfortable.

@undefined Linux Mint is a good alternative. Using it for 5 years straight, no regrets - it is always evolving.

It uses Ubuntu's repositories, you can also use PPAs and install .deb's. The default user environment Cinnamon looks and feels like good'ol GNOME 2 - GNOME 3 feels weird and Unity is in another league of weird, never got used with the latter.

@undefined arch way is the real linux way. It's good to find another arch user.

Yes, Arch is really good, and for the windows manager you can use KDE or i3wm if you are very geek but the installation is quite tough
