I agree with you, I have to use it at work because only the IT department is on Office 365 (and thus can sanely use Teams - although they ironically dont) and the rest of the business is still stuck on Skype.

No wonder IT is always seen as a bunch of useless idiots by the rest of the business

Isn't it being discontinued in favor of Teams anyway? In my company it has recently been phased out.

Not to say that Teams is that much better.

In a way, it's hilarious to see the devs working for Microsoft, probably the biggest software company in the world, struggling sometimes for YEARS before they can bring elementary school level instant messenger features that were in ICQ in the nineties into their own fancy messenger software. Go Microsoft!

Lol i said the same exact curse 15 minutes ago when i just needed to copy one single fucking android keystore from a slow computer to a stick. Normal startup? No. Slow computer. Spotify silently opens a window without annoying me and I logically will mostly also listen to music when I am using my pc. Skype for business makes a HUUUGE popup loading window that i can't make go away, THEN OPENS A MUCH MOOORE HUGEEEER WINDOW BECAUSE I DID NOT LOGIN AND THEN I CLICK ON CLOSE - NOOOOO YOU FUCKER. MINIMIZING - THAT - MEANS. THE FUCKENING IS REAL WITH SKYPE.

A client we work with uses SkypeFB and in turn we have to use it too. It's pretty funny how in meetings they're all very understanding when someone's Skype crashes or the microphone isn't working.

at work we use appear or google meet, mostly for the convenience of just sharing a link in slack

How about discord for business?
