Haven't been able to sleep well for a while. Generally I've either had to take some sort of sleeping aid (usually benadryl, cause melatonin doesn't do anything to me), or stay awake for about 20+ hours. It's been like that for about 2 years now. Due to that, I've built up a resistance to benadryl.

Last night I took benadryl around 11, figuring I'd fall asleep around 12:30-1. I managed to fall asleep around midnight, and woke up at 1. I tried going back to sleep for hours, but nothing. Now 6 hours later, I don't know. Might end up just staying awake until tonight and passing the fuck out.

I wish I could fucking sleep.

@Jilano I haven't, because I just recently hit the point where I could go see one myself (turning 18, not even 6 months ago), but there's also the factor that I simply can't afford it in any way right now.

My parents know about my insomnia, and they both work in hospitals (my mom in the pharmacy, my dad doing maintenance). With my mom being in the pharmacy, her solution to everything is OTC medication. She probably takes more pills a day than anyone I've ever seen. New problem? There's a pill for that. My dad tends to leave that type of thing for my mom, because she works more with the medical side of hospitals that he does.

Whenever I can, I plan on seeing specialists and getting my shit sorted out, cause I'm a bit of a fucking mess. Basically when I have more consistent hours in a job (currently working 18 hours a week for $8.65 an hour). I just know that now, I'd have to take care of all that myself, which I just can't do right now.

Had that problem too where I just couldn't sleep for two nights straight. Now I solved that by doing some sports and move a little. Makes my body tired and I can fucking sleep before 8pm

@Jilano Today I had patient from US and she asked for Ibuprofen in jar, because sheets aren't environment friendly. I asked her where she comes from, because drugs in jars sounds like US thing and overuse of NSAiD. My country has that problem, too.

@infernalempress OTC are temporary solution for everything. If you have problem which requires taking them too often, you should visit doctor. They have more drugs to chose from like Zolpidemi tataras which works great, but should be use with caution and according to advised use (I am not sure how to translate that9 correctly, but for example Zolpidem shouldn't be use for longer than 3 weeks as far as I remember). But that only pharmacotherapy which should be usually supported but changes in behaviour or enviroment.

    Master of Pharmacy there

@Omnisus Yeah we do have pills in jars in the US, but we also have sheets. Kinda just depends on what you're buying. I know stuff like ibuprofen, benadryl, and excedrin come in jars, but we use sheets for sudafed. There's more examples but those are just the ones I tend to use more than anything else. Plus I'm tired and I really don't feel like thinking of more.

I actually have an interview for a much better job in a couple days, so if I end up getting it, I'm definitely gonna see someone about my problems.

I actually remember when I got my wisdom teeth taken out. I was 14, and it was 2 days before Christmas. I was prescribed painkillers but was told to take ibuprofen when I started to feel pain then the painkillers after a bit. One night, I couldn't get to sleep, and I started to feel pain. I had already taken benadryl, then I took ibuprofen then the painkillers. Still couldn't fall asleep, ended up kinda loopy for a few hours while all that shit was going on inside me.

Probably wasn't the best idea now that I think about it, but I did spend all that time playing with legos and watching Bojack Horseman, and I felt awesome. Never did it again cause I knew it wasn't a good idea and I didn't want to end up addicted to painkillers and shit at 14. Even stopped taking benadryl for a while. I've always hit a point where I have a resistance to it so I stop taking it for a while, then when the sleeping issues get bad again I start taking it again.

Kinda rambling at this point. I'm fucking tired, but I'm also trying to fix my sleep schedule anyways so I'm toughing it out for today.

    Weed.
My savior is weed (completely legal here).

Nothing like a 28% THC Indica to knockout you out

@NoToJavaScript See, I'm not against weed. It's just not my cup of tea. Plus the fact that it's illegal where I live, I'd rather not have to deal with possibly getting some shit laced with something. Every time I've smoked weed, it's always been in groups and I've always waited for everyone else to smoke some first just in case. Gotta save yourself I guess.

@rutee07 I mean, melatonin never worked for me anyways. I tried it a few times around a year ago, and it just never did shit to me. It works just fine with my mom and brother tho (benadryl doesn't do shit to my brother, shit's weird with us).

As far as I know, there's no cheap hospitals here that could do a low-cost checkup. That's why I'm hoping I get this new job, then I can actually get an income that doesn't just go towards car insurance and gas and shit. (Plus then I could actually buy a Switch so we could play games together and not be set back most of my money ;D ) Cause you're too right, my parents just haven't taken it seriously.

It's at the point where I was tossing and turning for hours on end last night, until I just gave up on falling back asleep for more than a fucking hour. Ended up scrolling through devRant for a while and watching Tarantino movies on Netflix (god I love Pulp Fiction).

I'M RAMBLING AGAIN, I SHOULD FUCKING GO TO SLEEP NOW

So I slept about 13 hours after that shit. Basically I laid down and just passed the fuck out almost immediately. That was a good feeling
