"Hey Jamcris11,
Be apart of our cool programming project?"

"Hell yeah, sign me up".

Three weeks later.
Proceeds to me being the only person contributing to the project in anyway (despite having a full time job meaning little spare time).

Guy who invited me in the first place just plays fucking Minecraft all day (he doesn't have a job or college,) puts no effort into the project at all.

    The question is: what server is he playing on?
  • 3
    @ssync I honestly don't know, but if I did woh boy I'd love to have some fun.

    @Jamcris11 I know no Minecraft server that I would spend 12h on. Unless I'm on a survival world and I am upgrading my dirt shack.
  • 2
    @ssync Must be a really special server. All the better to destroy without holding back.

    @Jamcris11 If you know Java you could probably make a hacked Minecraft client to fuck with him even more.
  • 2
    Ah that sucks, could you stay off the project until he starts showing interest? Or is it too much fun to let the project go?

    @ssync AFK?
  • 1
    @alexbrooklyn I've just stopped doing anything for it, but I've talked to another dev in the server who lives locally and we're gonna do our own Discord bot project.

    @ssync No offence man but, I wouldn't want to go anywhere near Java.

    @Jamcris11 How else do you modify the Minecraft client? :(
  • 1
    @ScriptCoded Most likely to be honest, but I thought heavily modified versions of the game, Badlion Client, wouldn't count those seconds after a certain amount of inactivity. I guess not :/

    @ssync Use mad hacker skills, modify the binaries, steal the IP's, get the girl

    Mmmmh 12 hours time to play a game. The good old days
  • 1
    @ssync But thats discord counting, right?
  • 1
    @ScriptCoded you're right, my bad
  • 1
    Is this the "project designer" position people keep talking about?

    No offense to real designers who code and work and stuff.

    feel so bad for you. I take none of my friends's projects seriously because I know they aren't gonna.

    @KScott Thanks, man. It's alright, I've found someone who I know will be as dedicated at a project as me, I'm planning on doing something with him (just waiting on him getting a pc, because he smashed his laptop.)

    I hope you find someone you can have fun programming with.

    He's just doing research for a mod!

    @ssync iirc the Discord client keeps track of the time elapsed, not the game. The game just sends a timestamp of when it started.

    @IAmAnIssue Got that a while ago, I mentioned that in a comment. 😉
