Me : Posts a original developer joke after thinking for 15 long minutes.

Gets 20 ++'s.

Me : Posts random computer science joke stolen from Facebook that everyone would have already seen.

Gets 200++'s.

Fuck this shit.

    While I agree that the problem you mentioned is an issue, I went through your profile (rants and comments) and couldn't find anything close to the numbers you claimed.
  • 1
    @Jilano the second 'Me' is not 'Me'. Its actually 'Me' inside my head.
    And usually someone else in DevRant.

    @rutee07 😭 The DevRant ball.
  • 4
    I guess that means that either
    - you are not original enough
    - your jokes are too sophisticated for dummies to understand
    - your jokes are lame
  • 0
    @netikras I think it's the 3rd option 😂
  • 2
    @netikras Dummies? Here? On DevRant?
    I'll be damned.

    @JoshBent fuck that shit is not == I'm leaving 😭😭😭

    @darkney Ok

    @M1sf3t "Hey! You're ancient...! *Sobs*"
  • 1
    I can relate, my one-liners get way more ++s than my well thought out comments. Who cares. One-liners work for action movies, so why not here.
  • 1
    @JoshBent can you please stop pressuring @darkney to leave the community? I'd appreciate that.
  • 0
    @VaderNT Thanks for the support Vader. I am not leaving this beautiful community
  • 1
    @VaderNT JoshBent's posts have disappeared. Don't tell me...?
  • 1
    @darkney No, he's here. He just listened to @VaderNT
  • 0
    @cst1992 I haven't "listened" to anybody - I just already said all I wanted.

    If a green dot thinks to ignore the vile entitled behaviour of OP, I don't care.

    I clearly stated that devrant is barely financed as it is and a huge personal financial loss to two people that made it, which are working full time.

    If you were here for longer you'd also understand why the community isn't quite fond of those that beg for likes, complain about FREE STICKERS not arriving next day.

    Bunch of entitled and vile subhuman beings with no decency.
  • 1
    @VaderNT you're welcome to read the previous post too, as you're the green dot in question.
  • 0
    @JoshBent : DevRant is run at an operating loss. Doesn't give you the rights to talk rude to people in it.

    Why so serious? Take it easy man. Don't get personally offended for everything.

    Some people ask for stickers, some people fight for likes, some argue in comments, some thinks they are the boss, some are arrogent and never listen to other people.

    All of these make DevRant DevRant. These people make this community amazing.
    So let's respect all kinds of people than hating them.
  • 0
    @JoshBent : I wish your talk gets collected by the Garbage Collector.
  • 0
    @darkney my point wasn't them "asking" for stickers, which is another way of feeling entitled indeed, but the way those stickers are paid further from private financial loss to the great heart of those two that run this and then those people feel entitled to complain that the free stickers didn't arrive next day after they've sent an email.

    @darkney btw you'll get yourself vote banned by downvting so frequently with personal issue rather than actual report reason, well done haha
  • 0
    @JoshBent : Most of your comments are already deleted because they are offensive bruv.

    Can you please be respectful to the community than talking shit? Can you do something better please?
  • 0
    @darkney None of my posts were deleted by moderation once.
  • 0
    @darkney oh you deleted your post? oh well :)
  • 0
    @JoshBent differentiates me and you.

    When you deleted your posts about you asking me to leave the community.

    Funny guy.
  • 0
    @darkney they are still there, maybe finally we have some sort of filter if you downvote, check in a private tab and you'll see them.

    @JoshBent 7 year old. Go get a life mate.
  • 1
    @JoshBent you know, you're right. I don't like begging for ++s either.

    Whether OP begged or not, he did highlight an actual phenomenon: Low-effort postings often get higher scores than high-effort ones. That's not just a DevRant thing, it's the same with "thumbs up" on Facebook and such. Whatever these ++ mean to you, the author, the giver, this is just what happens.

    Now while I don't know what a "green dot" is (a "goody two-shoes"?), calling you out was somewhat hypocritical of me. I've exploded on people before, too. So feel free to call me out on my shit. I still found it excessive to tell OP "there's the door", and tbh I find it nice of you to delete those comments.

    Some developers are just so bullshit that their own fellow developers would not respect them.

    They just don't deserve the respect.

    I've always wondered. Where on planet would you find harmful and snake like humans.
    I was lucky enough to find one on DevRant.

    Beautiful community with a few retards. It's true fun talking to @JoshBent.
    See you mate. Goodbye

    @VaderNT Hi Vader. Thanks for your 2 cents mate.
    I've been too respectful to all my comments.

    But I lost it when he said "Bunch of entitled and vile subhuman beings with no decency".

    That was a personal attack and was totally unwanted. Sorry that I lost it.

    @VaderNT I have not deleted any of the initial comments, just possibly hidden by some sort of system then, I can still see them.

    Green Dot is referring to you having the default green circle avatar, as to partially discredit your green peace view on things, because you simply are new here and miss vital past frequently discussed information with the creators.

    For example that devrant is literally a one man job most of the time, with significant personal finance issues for both, the supporter program does not pull in nearly enough to cover the basic operation costs (though that could be really further optimized, to eliminate having e.g. a literal cpu optimized server running the bill to generate avatars)

    not to mention the e.g. free stickers, which they didn't have to do, but did for the community - it is vile that then - even though many know the background of devrant or get told, feel entitled and even complain about it not being fast enough.
  • 0
    @darkney it has a reason you felt targeted - and for a good reason too.
  • 0
    I'll gladly post it again

  • 0
    @JoshBent well I can't see them anymore, not even through your profile.

    And I'm having no avatar on purpose. :)
  • 0
    @VaderNT yeah I checked, it indeed was hidden, there you can see what effect abusing the downvote system can have, but now he should be vote banned :)
  • 0
    @JoshBent : Not vote banned :)

    Josh, PS : you don't own DevRant. I care about the community more than what you do. You are just one more of the people who take authority into their hands.
    Neither do you know anything about down votes. If you make an offensive targeted statement about another developer, it is against the policy.
    Maybe next time try reading privacy policy before blindly clicking on agree.
    Then you will realise why your comments are gone.
    😂 Rofl when you took screenshots of the ones that I dint report. You know which ones are gone. Don't be hurt. Next time behave decent and be polite before you get banned out of DevRant for good.

    @darkney too long didn't read

    IME if your rant needs a [Read More] in people's feed, it's usually going to get fewer upvotes. Usually.
  • 2
    @darkney First of all, remember that you're on devRant. "devRant" - "Rant" - aka, developer ranting!

    @JoshBent is just very fucking annoyed with people/users who do the begging for ++ stuff and if he wants to tell someone to fuck off because of that, that's his right to. I told people many times to fuck of because that was my opinion and that's my right as well.

    I just don't see how JoshBent is 'targeting' a dev on here since I don't see any specifically targeting comments.

    Also, he does not own devRant indeed but I think that anyone is allowed to defend something that they care about (and I'm very sure that JoshBent cares about devRant, whether it's devRant itself or the awesome devs behind it) so as for this regard, I don't see what he would be doing wrong either.

    Feel free to enlighten me :)

    @linuxxx hi linuxxx, thanks for the comment.

    Except for the fact that the targeted comments/offensive personal statements by Josh have been deleted by him or removed by the community review after I marked them to be offensive and reported on the same.
  • 0
    @darkney they haven't been removed, they were hidden because of your downvote aka report abusing.
  • 0
    @JoshBent hidden not to me. But to everybody.

    @darkney the weather is nice outside
