@scor @Stuxnet Yes.
On roads between villages/cities, 100km/h is the default until told otherwise.
You commonly get signs saying 70km/h when passing very small villages (that don't have a proper sign for their village) or on se crossings.
Even though there was possibly one accident some months ago, it is still ridiculous to block not just the area but the full road till the next village.
Heck, these roads aren't called "Landstraße" (literally: land street). They are almost always in woods.
Just because the treeline is a little bit closer in that area where the accident happened doesn't justify such signs for the whole road (the area with narrower treeline is about 1/10th of the road). -
@LinusCDE
The sentence "Heck this roads aren't called "Landstraße" (...)" should be:
Heck this roads aren't called "Landstraße" (...) for nothing. -
If there was an accident because of trees (meaning: If the chance to have an accident is higher than normal at this road) it is absolutely logical to reduce the speed limit, isn't it? I don't get the joke.
-
@Benedikt The speed limit starts literally miles before that area even begins.
I agree, that it's good to protect people and put such signs up. That's basically a good thing. But the whole road is just ridiculous.
Nobody who doesn't know about the accident will get why they're warning that you might crash into a tree.
Usually you get signs indicating e.g. some sharp turns or "slippery road" which gives you a solid reason. But "you can crash into a tree" isn't really a solid reason. Especially when you are surrounded by ordianary trees like everywhere else.
I also found it fitting as principle for unit tests since you there mostly make tests against encountered bugs and the sign warns of a possible accident that happened.
Unit tests be like:
(normal speed is 100km/h)
joke/meme
beware of trees
traffic sign
