A friendly reminder that Deutsche Bahn fucking sucks.

Their trains show up 10 minutes later than they would have to everyday.

Once I saw that there was a train that was 120+ minutes late.

Today I had to wait almost 20 minutes at a SINGLE train station. Thus I couldn't enter the next train.

To my luck the next train arrives in an hour.

EDIT:

As a student it makes my life way harder than it already is.

It is not reliable at all.

They charge you with 60€ if you forget your ticket btw.

I don't forget my ticket though. My ticket is my campus card.

Their tickets are fucking overpriced and they are always damn late. I ain't paying for that shit. I would rather ride with a horse to the university than paying for a ticket.

Second EDIT as an update:

They just announced that my next train is going to come 10 minutes later. What a bloody surprise, eh?

    In my case, the DB found out five minutes before departure, that the train will not arrive at may train station at all.

    My travel time increased by 2 hours, because the whole route had to be changed.

    @sbiewald that fucking sucks, man

    It has a single source for this problem: GREED

    Fun fact: the Deutsche Bahn counts a train only delayed when it is more than 6 minutes of the schedule.

    Tsänk u for dräveling wis Deutsche Bank

    @ExtremNerd werent it 8 minutes?
  • 1
    Nope, Focus.de talks about 6 Minutes and even 15 for Inter City trains
    The article is form the 10.03.2019

    Tell this to the Japanese, where the people get problems if the train is delayed by more than a few seconds.

    @Emphiliis or when they issue apologies for trains being too early

    https://bbc.com/news/...

    https://bbc.com/news/...

    meanwhile the Danish trains gets delayed because of fucking leaves on the tracks
  • 2
    @inaba Please don't tell the DB about the leafes, or they will use it as an excuse, too ;)

    Currently our trains are late because it's hot in the summer, there blows wind in autumn and it's cold in the winter.

    @sbiewald Heat, snow and rain, leaves, and passengers weighing too much :v

    @Emphiliis
    Well - I was in Japan for 3 weeks.
    Traveled daily with trains (and once with a bus, too - very weird but interesting) - no problems except once... they announce a (real) reason, too btw. At least you don't have to wait hours.

    Cute... In Ireland if the public transport doesn't show up it's up to you to figure out why and if the next one is coming at all or you need to take a taxi/walk.

    There is no such word as "delayed" in a context of public transport in Ireland. Just the "arriving in" info doesn't change for 25 min and then disappears as if the transport arrived and left without you and it leaves you wondering "maybe I somehow really didn't notice it arrived..."

    Move to Japan.

    Btw I hope your train shows up !!! My last comment could have sounded like I'm a dick haha. I'm moving to Berlin in two weeks myself but I think after living in Ireland for 10 years I'll be excited to see public transport arrive at all :P It'll be strange not to have to walk 1hr30 min to work at least once a week

    You need Mussolini.

    @arfro
    Have fun here in Berlin... 😂
    Bus lines are sometimes even worse...
  • 0
    Yeah, British trains are shit and overpriced too.

    @stop how would greed explain any of their problems? https://youtu.be/jMNuuFijlMU

    Last time I had to travel with DB, the AC in the ICE wasn‘t working. In june. From Berlin to Munich 🤬

    @kamen this comment 🇯🇵 responding to OP though, being from the UK I always assumed that the German transport system was amazing. (The same can't be said about the UK, in my area anyway)

    *laughs in Schweizerische Bundesbahnen*

    Seriously though if more than one train arrives 10 mins late it's already a huge scandal. They sometimes have to pay fines if they are facing too many delays due to some regional traffic associations not being able to operate correctly if the trains arrive late on a regular basis, so those associations just sue them because of it.

    Well that's what happens with a railway system in a country where a filthy and corrupt car industry tells filthy and corrupt politicians what to do: the railway is only meant as alibi to get people to buy cars.

    @ExtremNerd Also fun fact: if a train gets totally cancelled, it doesn't count as delayed at all.

    Klingt so, als hätten wieder Menschen nachgedacht bei dem, was sie tun. Zu viel.
    Manchmal... kann es nur Absicht, nicht Dummheit sein. So fühlt es sich an 😂

    Amen.

    We have a single track between Budapest (the capital) and lake Balaton (primary vacation point). On that line in the summer 3 hours delays can often occur. Otherwise our trains are so slow you can literally outrun them between stations.

    Stuttgart 21, when?
  • 2
    @JFK422 another example. The station is unnecessary, everything rolls away because of bad planning, the tunnels needed will be destroyed because the bedrock expands when it comes into contact with water, the complete area is filled with sinkholes and its endangered to fill up with water from the ground. The other problems are munor against the previous(endangered species, trees, ...)
