Once a friend came to me asking for help building an app, I asked him what his idea was and he said, "It's an app that builds apps! Think about it, people could just tell it what kind of app they want and it could build anything for them automatically! Can you believe no one has done this?"

    I can believe that.

But give it a few years and it will become reality. And then we'll all be unemployed.

@kanduvisla I honestly don't think so... Self creating apps is a whole new level of complex, and just like games, where you have game builders and engines, nothing beats custom made... Just my 2 cents tho

There is already software that allows you to relatively easily build apps. But there have been drag and drop website software for years, problem is, clients don't want to do it themselves. If they do they A. Have nobody to support it and perhaps more importantly have nobody to blame when it all goes wrong.

@MaccaMc no he wasn't talking about a WYSIWYG app builder. That's trivial. He wanted to talk to it like Siri and have it magically create the entire app in a few seconds.

@blackmarket Ah, don't see that ever happening lol. Even though yes things that people didn't think would happen years ago are here today, the sheer parameters that would be needed to make even a basic app would be overwhelming.

By the time we have the technology to do this, the tech will know what to make (and better) before we have a chance to tell it.

Maybe in the next 20 years, but you'll still need real developers to maintain it. And if it's anything like the drag and drop websites tills be okay but might not suit ever use case
