I nominate "polyfill" for worst most confusing ambiguous fucking name for a piece of code ever.

    @Ranchu There's usually half a dozen brands of putty compounds at a hardware store with names like "polyfill", and that's what the programming concept was named after. (it's from "Introducing HTML5", 2009).

    It fills holes in a surface, usually not as efficiently as the native material, but adequately enough to be useful.

    So I nominate it for being the best, least confusing, most awesome name for a piece of code ever! 😆
