Work demands too much energy from us.

It's just too repetitive. No matter what career path you take short of waiting tables and retail, you are just about guaranteed to be stuck doing the same set of tasks over and over again for eight to ten hours a day. Our bodies didn't evolve to exist in such a manner. And it's even worse when you get injured from your chosen field.

Whether it be a bad back, bum knee or just something as simple as carpal tunnel, you usually have to go back to work before whatever it is has fully recovered so it's either start feeding yourself pain pills to manage the residual pain or pick a different career and start over

You decide how much energy you give.

@electrineer Not quite. Your manager is breathing down your neck with urgent deadlines and then you can't really relax.

@M1sf3t Indeed, we were not built for this.

@CaptainRant Lean would help with this. The team would plan an achievable goal with the Project Owner. No shit would get past the PO to the team.

@electrineer Yeah, we don't have that hierarchy. It's much more relaxed (in a way).
