I got enough Today so I marked my linkedin profile with “looking for new opportunities”.

It’s actually cool you can pick up to 5 job positions, location, form of employment and let know only to recruiters not all of your contacts that you are open for a new “opportunities ”.

I picked technical consultant, software architect, technical lead, lead software engineer and principal software engineer.

Time will tell if I will be able to find something better then I am dealing with right now.
Customer I am consulting for is cool but the company I work for went over the years from cool to get the fuck out right now cause we only hire managers and people without any knowledge.
It’s probably cause they hired many people from one company that was acquired, probably those who know everything about nothing.

    I turned it on for a bit. It was the most annoying week of my life. Most recruiters don't look at your suitability, your experience, your skills, and just get in touch about anything they are trying to sell.

    I used it to get my current job.

    My advice is to politely decline explaining what you are looking for.

    It can be annoying to begin with but you never know when one of them just happen to stumble on the right offer.

    For me it took about 3 months before I started to get good recommendations but then I suddenly had 5 coming all at once.

    Yeah well we’ll see doing something is always better then doing nothing.
