It's so cool to see this many computer nerds just like me gathered in one place. I think I'm gonna like college, it's a dream come true.

Ew imagine letting your hobby/career be a personality trait.

Surround yourself with other people too. Part of the point of college is meeting all kinds of different people while you're learning.

Plus having non-tech savvy friends is helpful. Whenever I have homework and I want to make sure it's valid or makes sense, I'll ask them. If they understand my thought process and the results, then it's clearly a pretty good idea for the most part.

@Stuxnet oh yeah, of course. I'm not antisocial or only like nerd stuff but my whole life I had no one I could share my nerd interests with apart from my dad. Also, what I refer to as my dream is not having nerd friends, it's actually going to a place where I can learn useful and cool new stuff.

And I understand the pain. My graduating class had 185 in it. I was one of 3 going to college for IT or CS.

Luckily I had some friends that were interested enough in computers that even though it wasn't their major of choice I was able to talk to them.
