I might give up installing Manjaro... I'm... Too weak... Managed to install it but now my 4k screen is a bit laggy and I'm having some scaling issues with my 1080p second monitor. Idk how to solve those and, since Manjaro has a rolling release model I'm assuming doing anything in this will be frustrating. Not because the OS sucks, but because I lack the knowledge to make it all work smoothly.

    I mean, I don't want to give up on it, but it's starting to look like I'm too much of a noob on Linux systems to be able to handle Manjaro.

    @M1sf3t it tells me I have a 4k monitor at hdmi-0 and a 1080p monitor at dvi-d-0. I used xrandr --output DVI-D-0 --scale 1.6 to match window sizes in both monitors but then the smaller monitor's desktop wallpaper only covers about half the screen.

    @theKarlisK How easy is it to use? Now that you mentioned Fedora I'm thinking of giving it a try. Otherwise I'm going with Ubuntu...

    @Parzi been using manjaro for 2 years now, biggest issue i had was not finding an intel igpu driver in aur

    I don't understand, installing manjaro was the most pleasurable installation after Ubuntu. I tried installing Arch on my old laptop, but due to GTX 740M I had trouble running Xorg. I tried every possible option and I was left with writing my own driver and compiling Xorg.

    I haven’t had any issues with manjaro but I’m only running it in a hyper-v with the display running over a hv socket, allows me to run a decent terminal and some Linux apps in there own native windows windows

    @Parzi Keep in mind that Manjaro is not equal to Arch. The repos it uses are two weeks behind Arch to allow for more stable software. It's not true bleeding edge.

    @PrivateGER a two week delay won't fix a kernel that can be hosed by a gentle fart in the opposite direction

    @Parzi Arch kernels don't really break and I don't know where you got that from.

    @PrivateGER I had to do almost 100 hours of work modifying an arch install iso to get it to boot and install on my desktop, and it wanted me to do it again to get it to boot afterwards. It wouldn't even install right in a VM.

    Additionally, there's literally this on the archlinux subreddit, which is fairly telling even though it's a joke

    Keep breaking it and reinstalling it. Learn it in and out, Manjaro is the SHIT and it's powerful as hell

    @Parzi if it’s hyperv and the vm was just a black screen then you need to install the video drivers. You can switch to a login terminal from that black screen to do it

    @Parzi yeah it was a bit different with Manjaro compared to just adding a line to grub the only reason I mentioned it, the only other thing that’s caused issues is the secure boot. Gen1/2 vms can’t remember what I’m using can check tho if you want
