Be careful. I used to work with an archaic language that would do weird things like this. I'd see "if 1 eq 1", with no resulting code and go "huh??" But that comparison set some global flag. Yes, it was an archaic and weird language. But yes, there are sometimes reasons for weird stuff.

That said, yeah that's weird code lol.
