Serious question why is everyone so upset about the headphone jack...

Yes Bluetooth still cannot play lossless hifi, it's closer e.g bower Wilkins new series

What I don't get is they keep saying it opens the doors for better quality DACs... But I haven't seen a worthwhile one since? I love the phone, but I've already given up on using headphones on the thing

@Lilithium agree with that, but Bluetooth is pretty easy and cheap these days

@KnightsOfCode agreed the quality is not ideal, but even still a .5mm jack is not ideal for highest quality sound. If you could tell the difference between Bluetooth and .5mm then I'm surprised you would settle for .5mm

I just got the 7+ and it's not bad at all. I guess the only adjustment for me was the size. Usually always have Bluetooth headphones anyway.

@Treighton the difference between Bluetooth and the internal DAC is super clear for me

You don't have to get an iPhone 7 you know that right? The 6S(+) is still a very capable device. And a mac isn't a requirement anymore

Android will lose them too eventually, it is the slow tick of progress.

    Good for you.

As an audiophile (or atleast as someone that doesn't remove his headphones to a degree that he might get a bald spot) I refuse to let Apple dictate what I use and how I will use it! And I don't need to say that a tech company should ADD features not remove them...

@Marnsghol 💫💫💫✨ you made it woo
  • 1
@Marnsghol if you use apple products you are already letting them tell you what you cannot and cannot use...
  • 1
@Treighton Well I don't actually use apple I'm just riding the bandwagon Choo chooo !

@Marnsghol lol my whole point is basically this: you don't have to buy the phone, and what they did by removing the port was so they could maintain the slim design. It really could be considered a feature rather than a lack of one. I feel like complaining about the lack of the port is like complaining that there are hotdog + bun toasters that don't have slots for sliced bread...or coffee grinders that you cannot process meat in.

Not sure if everyone is aware but the 7 comes with the lightning to 3.5 adapter. I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like and also you don't need a mac to use it.
