ding ding ding, my 3 years is up, buy a new one - said my phone and started lagging

    Back in the days if a computer goes slow one typically reformats. Like @asgs suggestion a backup and reset might extend its use

    @asgs @iamai thing is, in logged in to the banks app where i have my student loan and i have no idea what was my login information

    Ah planned obselecence, it wouldn't surprise me these days if it built into the firmware at this point.

    Install a custom ROM, you be amazed how fast it is .... Because it doesn't have any of the crap that came with the default OS

    @billgates its android one, literally nothing came default

    @yellow-dog My first phone was a Google phone, after lost upgrade support, I flashed a custom ROM with the beer OS. It was a lot faster to because it didn't have a lot of the preinstalled Google apps that run in the background but i don't use

    Update: i havent bought a new one, a factory reset seems to have worked, will install a 3rd party rom after i pay back my student loan and dont need the banking app anymore
