@DLMousey ok I knew I would offend with that one. A better way of saying this is if you are self taught. Have some humility because of the thousands of books I have read in college and the guided learning was of some value. Great painters are made by observing the masters. Classics are the classics for a reason. My concern is reading crap code from people who have read design UI for dummies Is frustrating We all had to start somewhere in this profession is all about continual learning. Don't give up but if I hear one more time he must be a savant he is self taught. It's going to get a throat punch.

@olebarrera I've read many classic books on prgramming too. Maybe you should learn some humility lol

@DLMousey yes that's exactly what I'm saying. Trial and error should not be a substitute for having the discipline to do the Math. I think it's rare that there is a self taught individual who has this discipline. Every one wants to think they are Srinivasa Ramanujan.

It's not rare at all, in fact being self taught usually means more discipline than having gone to college. In fact, some self taught people studied an unrelated degree and still managed to land a job as a software engineer, how's that for discipline.

Now I feel like a troll so I'm gonna stop responding. We all have the freedom to yearn and breath free. Fly my friends fly and feel free to live your life how you see fit. Just remember to lead you must learn to follow first.

@DLMousey I have read all your post. Thank you I truly was not trying to offend I was ranting i.e. devrant I even ++ the rants against my opinion. I guess I have wasted the last 20 years of my life writing code and getting paid for it in an industry that is not for me. By the way do you have the number to that truck driving school I think I need it

No degree here. Worked way up from graduate level, mid, senior, now team lead. Rather than fear their knowledge, try and leech off of it!
