I doubt it’s using more than 4GB of RAM

    Just a tiny question: Why?

    I never understood the reason to have so many tabs open

    I genuinely don’t do it on purpose, whenever I do a we search on my phone, i always open a new tab. All I wanted was my audible tab in that list which had some books in a cart

    Lazyness. At least an honest answer ;)

    Here have some pie, sweetheart

    @IntrusionCM Lazyness?!?! Actually I can’t argue against that 🤣

    Safari seriously has a "Close older than 1 month" feature? Wow...

    @kamen apparently so, there is also an option to auto close tabs older than 30 days in the settings as well I think

    @IntrusionCM I usually have tons of tabs open because I have ADHD. I leave a tab open for something I want to go back to, then forget and leave the tab open for weeks.

    @EmberQuill Yay, I also have ADHD so I’m glad It’s not just me

    @EmberQuill that's the thing... I can only work on one monitor, otherwise I loose focus (dunno why)...

    Seeing people searching in tons of tabs... It drives me nuts.

    It's just such a waste of time...

    When I open a tab and I realize I cannot read the title in the tabbar to know what's what, I'll have to close things.

    @IntrusionCM I'm not saying it works well. It definitely doesn't. My ADHD brain just (mal)functions that way.

    well.. chrome mobile just smiles at you, if you've reached 100 open tabs.. :D

    sidenote: a colleague of mine has one fascinating habit.
    he uses tabs as a sort of to-do list.
    if a tab is still opened, there is something to do for him on that ticket.

    if some open tabs on a mobile device drives you nuts, you just don't want to look at his screen sometimes..

    @EmberQuill and I'm asking myself whose brain actually malfunctions. XD

    Hehehe

    I just don’t care to close them. Why would I ?
    Also I don’t clear my multitasking cache thing on me phone.
    It has no impact whatsoever.

    It can't use 4gb of ram, inactive tabs exist for a reason

    @dder because Safari crashing reboots the entire fucking iPhone (because shit os, i think? Hard to say without source...) and you can be entirely taken out by history spam, so yes, it affects everything if the browser's rooted that deep, and you should be ashamed of yourself. (Plus none are actually loaded, but it's still a considerable RAM draw from what I can tell because thumbnails and apparently shit code.)

    No idea what this "multitasking cache" thing is so I can't comment on it.

    @Parzi I'm assuming they mean the app switcher thing that shows thumbnails of recent apps.
  • 1
    Heh... i wanted to write a rant about it... I have i think 1000 pages already and i cant even click close all because the browser crashes and it restarts with all pages again.
  • 1
    nvm it was 1650 pages and it finaly had closed them all
  • 0
    @EmberQuill yes, app switcher thing.

    @Parzi never heard of such thing as history spam. What u mean ? Maybe I don’t know, because I use private mode all the time anyway.

    Even when you think you've found all the settings, there's always one more.

    Yay, no more playing hide and seek with the tab scroll.

    @rootofskynet it winky smiles if you open 100 incognito tabs too!
