I feel like php is disliked so much because it allows bad programers to write bad code.. but isnt it that the programmer's fault for being bad?

@vortex it's the snob affect, language X is better because I use it, no other opinions matter.

Bad programmers come in all shapes and sizes, hell, some of them are convincing to talk to, yet write over complicated shit storms when given the chance in any language.

The key difference with PHP having shitty programmers in what seems like every direction you look, is that the language it's self is designed to be forgiving. It will attempt to run your code regardless of what it is, and what it's doing which leads to devs writing the most horrific code you can imagine.

Now before someone jumps down my pants and rapes me for this, I've been a PHP Dev for the past ~15 years, I have seen and worked with some of the most gigantic piles of shit you hear horror stories about, turning them into performant and usable code bases is sometimes beyond anyone's capabilities, and you literally hit delete on a file or project and write it again.

@vortex yes, that's the argument u have going for JavaScript. I still don't like the syntax of PHP though but that's just a personal preference
