Tried to install Ubuntu on a Virtualbox. Wasted so much time and effort just to get it running.

Got so fed up, ended up getting a hosted one at Digital Ocean.

Ironically, my local Linux box is now my Raspberry Pi instead.

Ubuntu on VirtualBox is easy to install I can't see where you had a trouble

I had problems with the guest additions, somehow it kept flaking out on me when I did the apt-get dist-upgrades.

Anyhow, decided to just spin up a hosted instance since I'll be able to access it anywhere.

@Orionss I thought the same thing. This dev must not be as regular tech-savvy as the rest of us.

With docker you can have everything running in seconds easy as pie :)

@Trey50Daniel I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm indeed not tech savvy enough to get it running on my virtual box... (no snark intended).

That said.. @michaelm you're absolutely right, Docker is fking brilliant, it's exactly why I wanted to install Ubuntu on a Virtualbox. An isolated environment where I can meddle around, save a particular environment, and restore it as I like.

    In other words.. Docker compose.
