AGAIN !!! MICROSOFT (MAY GOD SEND THEM TO HELL) GAVE A DEADLY BLOW TO SOMETHING I USED TO LOVE !!

This new UI update is just aweful, i mean, i love github, i work using github, i do so many things with it, or should i say that i used to ....

This update seems so un-natural, it just doesn't fit.

Why would the collabs be shown so obviously ??
Why would the main window be so narrow while the rest is widescreen ????

My eyes get tired so quickly when i use it now.

It used to be something nice, easy to use, but now it is more like a social media than a professional coding tool.

I HATE YOU MISCROSOT WHAT EVER YOU TOUCH TURNS TO BE A SHIT HOLE

    The narrow/wide part is what bothers me. It looks the like first shitty website I made.

    Actually it is weird that not one posted a rant about github been changed so brutally, nothing in devrant oO

    @workabit I can assure you that at least someone did. There's even a guy that likes the new design. And while I'm not one to point fingers, it was @Frogstair

    @workabit it's because everyone is in shock. Or too busy trying to find where the fuck has Microsoft hidden away this or that.

    With Microsoft its usually one step forwards, two steps backwards

    They fucked up in first update where they introduced that new homepage with activities. And pushed my repositories to corner.
    I need my profile to be my homepage just like old times.

    I am mildly annoyed with the fact they stripped out the color for severity in the security tab. I oversee those things and triage for multiple projects, and now I can’t just have a color-coded glimpse. Every Monday for me starts with looking through alerts and I find it to be less productive without color coding. Oh, I also had a coworker confused about a button vs label in the new UI (thanks to lack of coloring and styling again, and no, the difference in border rounding is not a good enough visual how to tell those apart).

    So it is not only me, that shouted WTF when he saw the shit design of the fucked up Microshit product.

    Well, you are an EDGE case.
    If they added this layout it is because it was asked by many existing users.
    If your way of working is different, just change platform. There are plenty others clones of GitHub (Like gitlabs etc)
    Problem is YOU here.

    @NoToJavaScript EDGE CASE, THE FUCK. THIS GUY AND ME ARE NOT EDGE CASES. WE ARE AT LEAST 2 HERE AND YOU ARE THE FUCKING EDGE CASE HERE.
  • 4
    @shakur That's called anecdotal evidence, and it doesn't prove anything. That being said, I don't think @NoToJavaScript is right either.

    Many if not all major companies are always pushing for changes for the sake of it (sometimes), and just because they do something doesn't mean the large majority wanted it in the first place.

    @Jilano But it is awful. They destroyed everything.

    @workabit there has been a lot of complaining about github changes on devrant.
  • 1
    should've given an option to use the old design

    I HATE YOU MISCROSOT WHAT EVER YOU TOUCH TURNS TO BE A SHIT HOLE

    except TypeScript, please don't ruin it too

    @NoToJavaScript Nobody asked for bullshit.

    Yeah, maybe there were requests for straight up shown Releases, Packages, and even Contributors on overview page. But why the hell one would like to see improperly aligned header or whole content area shifted to the left? And of course Microsoft makes that lenny face "like, yeah, we give the fucks, just go send mail to support". NOBODY asked for it, I swear. But here I am, the man who gently sent them request to revert these last two changes, and no response whatsoever.

    @Jilano What a shame ....
  • 1
    @theKarlisK as fucking usual ...
  • 1
    @Wanderer totally, shame on msf AND c# devs
  • 2
    @ekat msft is a mess for UX
  • 1
    @shakur BRUH !!!
  • 1
    @NoToJavaScript No the thing is, Github was doing Fine, or even GREAT before it got bought by MSFT.

    If you want to change your UI/UX, do it slowly !!! one step at the time, and do it in a smart way !!!

    This update just breaks a lot of good points to github, just do a simple comparaison of old github with bitbucket ... ... ... if you like bitbucket, then you are unefficient, because the old github design was SO MUCH efficient and THIS was the reason WHY I LOVE IT !

    @shakur Fuck yeah !

    @Jilano at least we agree about the FACT that a change for change is USELESS, if you do a change, it is for the better, not for the worst ...

    I'm starting to think I've just read your rant over and over again. But I found this guide by @12bitfloat and I recall there was at least one other rant before it. https://devrant.com/rants/2690384/...

    @electrineer thx but a CSS Whack isn't what i am looking for, for sure it is possible to change, but will this change fucking msft plans to make it a paying upwork/facebbok/linkedin platform ???
