Honestly I think you should goto the small city. I love big cities, but here the benefits outweigh it.

I more than tripled the size of my apartment by moving to a small city. Same mortage

A lot tbh.. but my dog, not so much.. we live in a huge-ish place now with tons of space for running. If it werent for my dog, I'd move to an even bigger city than before

Small city, here. Whenever I hear people talk about big cities, it reminds me of a crack addict talking about how great crack is. You may enjoy it and you may miss it, but it's better for your health in the long run.
