@azuredivay Oh I do use Windows. Hell, I'm a hardcore fan of Windows. I have 3 Windows Phones(!) and I don't use Android. But I'm just interested in Linux. I want to know about it.

@azuredivay That's the main issue with Linux. Driver Problems! And yes, I have used Fedora before. Didn't like it much. I'm looking for something "Different and Interesting".

@RichardCHaven I don't intend to stay/switch to Linux. I just want to know about it and do experiments on it.
I found a distro though named GeckoLinux. Gonna Live Boot it and see how it goes. -
@NotNihan Well, I always think Windows is better for stability. I also use Windows 10.

If you don't mind spending a couple of hours installing the system, you may try Arch Linux. Before installing, search "Arch Linux" + your computer model and you will find how well Arch is compatible with the hardware of this model. Arch Linux has a comprehensive wiki site and software repository. What's more, installing Arch is a process of learning how Linux works!

@slinavipuz My freezes happen randomly, I couldn't find any trigger. But I'll definitely try the wi-fi driver issue. Do you have any links that can help me with that?

@jy99 Yeah, I tried elementary once. The visuals are good, yes. But the software availability seems lower than the most distros to me.

@ASabbir nope. I kinda never found a relevant link or tutorial. I was randomly turning things off to discover what the issue was and - wifi.
Other times - 10y ago with ubuntu 6 I experienced random freezing but that was due to faulty graphics card - whenever I had turned on Beryl it froze after random amount of time. -
@ASabbir You don't have to be an expert. You just have to be patient :D

@ASabbir install grub-customiser, its a nice little GUI

I want to use Linux again. I tried to use Ubuntu 16.04 and Linux Mint 18 before but for some reason my Laptop gets frozen randomly (and I think the kernels used in these OS are somehow responsible for it, because it was all okay when the kernel version was 3.xx) and I didn't get any solution from Ubuntu Forums, so I gave up.
So any suggestions? Which distro should I use? I'd love an user friendly DE (Like XFCE or Cinnamon) and good software availability.
And my Laptop also has a Touchscreen. I'd like to utilise it if possible.
P.S. Please go easy on me. I'm still learning.
