Depends on what you are looking for. Music? Yes. Specific creators? No

@Bybit260 YouTube mid roll ads, and the cancel culture, also less revenue for the content creators

@elgringo I know.. YouTube is getting trashier. It was a good alternative to TV until they slowly became like them.

@elgringo You can use an adblocker, but that's only a short term solution and doesn't do anything against the stupid arse decisions.
One of the best alternative would be PeerTube (any instances), but it's still not mainstream enough.

Depends on kinds of audience you relate to, mostly.

After all it's all about size of community. YouTube has a major one.

Just in terms of clients, viewpipe is an open source thing which strips all the crap. Android only though, I believe.

There are lots of youtube-like services out there but there's just nothing in them. Most of what's there is reuploads of youtube content anyway.

Dtube is also getting there. But yeah, I don't see these alt services getting popular fast, youtube will have to do a lot more missteps and piss of a lot more people for a paradigm shift like that

Youtube has network effect, meaning hundreds of millions of users and creators. Any alternative you are suggesting should have member amount close go that. Otherwise, nobody will care and those alternatives will die.
