In Chrome's dev tools usually at least three times is required for a guaranteed successful copy

I do that with Esc in Vim. Initiating unwanted commands is something you really want to avoid.

Sometimes I think "I won't be silly and press it multiple times" and then I paste and copy didn't work so I go to copy again and press C repeatedly like a maniac until I get it all out of my system :)
