If you have an e-commerce site and you don't let me sort the products based on price, what the fuck are you doing?

Running an ecommerce store poorly. To be fair though, most ecommerce frameworks are flaming garbage.

it's when I sort by price but you don't sort by the discounted pricing... that grinds my gears.

Or other a min-max price range, but show me products outside of that range.

    @C0D4
I like the "best value" selector on Nordstrom rack. It's trivial (most discounted), but usually is fairly useful if you're clearance shopping.

    @M1sf3t
Rockauto is the only stop for old stuff. They spam the shit out of you though .

@C0D4 Oh yes. That's the bloody worst.

Or it'll show items that aren't in stock and straight up return a "item out of stock page" instead of the product page.

Why the fuck even list it then.

@M1sf3t considering it was a seasonal Old Navy t shirt, don't think that's the case. I think GAP is spending more money getting a Kanye line of products than on their website lol

What I hate in particular is e-shops where I use their search engine to look for something specific, like a vendor part number, and instead of "we don't have that", they display tons of other shit, sometimes not even remotely related. Instead of selling me other shit, all this achieves is make me hate and avoid that shop.

It's OK how Ebay does it, with a clear "we don't have that" and only then "these items could be similar".

    Artificial intelligence.
It predicts what you might want to buy 😂

There are plenty of competing shops, wich let you sort by price - so i don't care about the ones that don't.
But i hate that filtering by product features is most often missing or poorly implemented.

    You are serving spaghetti. ^^

Well, it depends. One of my clients are selling a translation trainings for professional translators. I can't imagine who would want to attend just the cheapest one :)

The default is always, sort by high price..

    Why!

Is everyone who shops online rich..

"No we can't deliver that to your address"..

No problem, I'll just check 30,000 of your products to find out just which ones you do ship to my address !

Then, when I order them, you will email me to let me know, it was a mistake, and they don't really ship that one either..

Reminds me of a not so local woodstore to me, that I wanted to order wood from, it doesn't list which online items are only available locally. (It's a country wide store.)

You can ring up and ask, do you sell X ?

So rather than do that for all 5,000 products it sells, I asked for an email copy of their product list they do stock.

Which after 6 weeks, of emails, and phone calls, I went in their personally to ask, they did email me a list !

Then they took 3 months to deliver.

They was only 3 island hops away...

It isn't like I live on Mars !

Actually if I did live on Mars, it would probably have arrived sooner..

    There are exceptions.

    https://gucci.com/us/en/...

Gucci does'nt give a shit about your price range nor do they want yo broke ass buying they're clearance lol.

By the way, why do all of gucci's models look so emotionally distraught ?

@dUcKtYpEd I wouldn't buy Gucci of I could afford it. 99% of it is ugly as shit and over hyped.

@Stuxnet Agree. I prefer good old army t-shirts and the classic biker leather jacket.

Ya all the clothes and models on this site are intentionally weird af. There’s a 2000$ bag called a hobo purse

@dUcKtYpEd modern "fAsHiOn" makes 0 sense and I've stopped tryna understand it. Especially streetwear.

@Stuxnet The "point" is to make them a little different each year so that some coke-deranged fashion pope can order millions of sheeple to ditch last year's clothing and buy new stuff so that the fashion pope can afford even more coke, and hookers.

@M1sf3t The irony is that many women want to look "toned" and try to achieve that with dieting down alone - instead of also lifting iron and eating enough protein.
  • 0
@M1sf3t Well that's right - temporary diets will only yield temporary results. If she goes back to how she ate before, she will look like before. No shit, Sherlock. ^^

And while you can never out-train a bad diet, a good diet without exercise will just leave you skinny fat.

But what's really relevant for us devs: strength training, properly done, should also develop muscles in the back, and that's the best insurance against back pain in a mostly sitting job.

@M1sf3t can’t tel your girl nothing man just gotta day “you beautiful babe” 😂. They gotta figure it out themselves

@dUcKtYpEd Avoiding giving delusional people a reality check will only make them more delusional. And so what if she freaks out? Fuck that shit.

@Fast-Nop coming from a married man of many years haha, don’t bring it up out of nowhere and be OK by the way you really need to exercise to lose weight or if they start talking about how they want to lose weight don’t reply with something instructional. I did that our first two years of marriage when she put on the newlywed weight. I stop doing that as it made her really angry and discouraged but instead whenever she mentions eating right or exercise or how she wants to lose weight I just provide positive reinforcement behind it and of course practice a strict healthy myself. Now she’s working out every day and eating better than me. But that’s my wife and our experience. Everyone’s different and there’s no same experience.

We run 800+ ecomm sites and doing huge filter refactoring and search refactoring as we speak. Implementations for all the corner cases are actually tricky.
