I hate when people use foo and bar in sample codes as names of variables.

Yes me too. Use descriptive names assholes!

Seen this in a test lately.

var foo = 'bar'
var bar = 'foo'

Why the point of making that in examples is that the variable names don't matter...

I once searched php docs to see where these people get foo, and what it does. then realised it not something special but a uninventive and not very helpful inside fucking joke thing. At least acme and I come from childhood so didn't feel like a complete tosser when I watched a acme class being created
