I used to be a bad ass like you, but then I took a USB stick to the knee

I try to remove it safely, but shit hits the fan when "..Some Application is using it ..." Comes up. I suppress the urges to pull it out...and start closing the possible applications using it.. closed 1st app..remove safely..doesn't works, close 2nd app... remove safely..doesn't work nothing works...more I do that, more I fall to despair. shit starts hitting the fan seriously...about to break my laptop when I notice I have opened some folder of the pen drive in command prompt..fking cmd. I close it.. laptop is safe for another day..

Later I learn to play it cool by using process explorer.. and killing the sonuvabitch process preventing me to eject..hackerman is born...

Usually no problem for flash drives. However, for external hdd's I believe doing this might actually damage the platters (in some, probably rare, cases).
