Man, I don’t get it. Sure, at the end of it’s life IE was a dumpster fire that, at best, was only a MINOR pain in the ass to support. But that’s only if you’re exceedingly lucky. Most of the time hearing “Support for IExx required “ brought tears to my eyes.

HOWEVER to deny that IE was at one point the forerunner for web technology, helping advance the web past its humble static-hypertext beginnings is... kinda sad. I never experienced it myself, but there’s always been a minor respect held for what is ultimately the granddaddy of the modern web. I dunno, maybe I’m just crazy, but hearing that IE is FINALLY being given the death knell is... humbling in a way. We’re finally able to let old, legacy tech die, paving the way for a new era. I dunno, it’s still a death all the same. I feel SOME respect is due, but maybe that’ll come in time.

Every browser has been dead for a long time, but no one's noticed yet. All of them were good at one point, but are past their prime. In their place, Google remains. Firefox is but a shell of itself, becoming more and more gimmicky and muddled with plug-in and spinoff products and "simplicity". It, too, shall fall with time.

Yet no one mourns. The names are the same, so they're all still the same, right?

It haunts beyond the grave. My Windows just updated itself and then popped open a new MS browser window, in which I had to clickety-click through different agrees and dontagrees just to be able to close that stupid shit.

Listen you guys in MS, if I want to use your browser, I'm perfectly able to open one up myself. No need to ambush users.
