Has anyone had experience in an exclusive pair programming environment? Do you feel you can still be creative? How does it affect your individualism? How can you grab some headspace when you need it?

I'm not a big fan of it. Let me work on something and then put it up for pre-merge review.

I really don't like anyone looking over my shoulder or chatting, and the eventual discussions about minutia seem to take forever to shut down.

If I need someone to play rubber duck I'll ask, and if someone else needs me to I'm happy to help. But then I want to go back to my desk, put the headphones on, and work in peace.
