*Rules For Work*
1. Never give me work in the morning. Always wait until 4:00 and then bring it to me. The challenge of a deadline is refreshing.
2. If it's really a rush job, run in and interrupt me every 10 minutes to inquire how it's going. That helps. Even better, hover behind me, and advise me at every keystroke.
3. Always leave without telling anyone where you're going. It gives me a chance to be creative when someone asks where you are.
4. If my arms are full of papers, boxes, books, or supplies, don't open the door for me. I need to learn how to function as a paraplegic and opening doors with no arms is good training in case I should ever be injured and lose all use of my limbs.
5. If you give me more than one job to do, don't tell me which is priority. I am psychic.
6. Do your best to keep me late. I adore this office and really have nowhere to go or anything to do. I have no life beyond work.
7. If a job I do pleases you, keep it a secret. If that gets out, it could mean a promotion.
8. If you don't like my work, tell everyone. I like my name to be popular in conversations. I was born to be whipped.
9. If you have special instructions for a job, don't write them down. In fact, save them until the job is almost done. No use confusing me with useful information.
10. Never introduce me to the people you're with. I have no right to know anything. In the corporate food chain, I am plankton. When you refer to them later, my shrewd deductions will identify them.
11. Be nice to me only when the job I'm doing for you could really change your life and send you straight to manager's hell.
12. Tell me all your little problems. No one else has any and it's nice to know someone is less fortunate. I especially like the story about having to pay so many taxes on the bonus check you received for being such a good manager.
13. Wait until my yearly review and THEN tell me what my goals SHOULD have been. Give me a mediocre performance rating with a cost of living increase. I'm not here for the money anyway.

So my programmer boyfriend chose his career over me.
We made plans together that he will teach me how to do be better at coding and that he will leave his company because it sucks. However, they joined some hackathon and won.
Now, they are going overseas and our plans? Nothing. He chose his company, success, money and fame over me.
We’re engaged btw. Sorry for being so dramatic. Any advise?17 -
Notice :
We strongly advise people to use Windows as their primary operating system as it provides a totally free and a great tool or a utility known as Backdoors.
Here's a simple explanation of a backdoor for the people who don't know what a great tool it is :
Just as most of the citizens have a secondary door to their home through the yard, similarly a backdoor is a secondary access to your Computer which you (not us) can use it in cases of emergencies when you forget the passwords.
Please cooperate
Have a great day :)29 -
Stop it with the Linux shilling already.
I'm 27 years old and I love Linux and git and vim just as much as the next guy (yeah fuck you emacs!). I have discovered this place as a room for discussion, advise, humor and rants of course, and I had my good share of giggles.
But lately it seems that every other Post is "look at me I installed Linux" or "hurr durr he doesn't use git" or "windows omfg kill it with fire". And to some degree, those rants have a good point and are absolutely right. However, most of them are not.
This is why you're part of the problem. Constantly shaming and ridiculing any technology that's not hip in nerd culture, regardless of the circumstances. This makes you look just as bad as the peoples you look down upon for writing their code in notepad++ on windows xp with McAfee installed. Even worse, from a professional point of view, it absolutely voids your credibility.
How am I to take you seriously and presume a fair amount of experience and out of the box thinking if all you do is repeat catchphrases and ride the fucking hype train. And yes, I know there are a lot of minors or peoples who are just getting started in the industry. But I have seen enough self-righteous hateful spews from peoples who claim not to be.
Anyway, this is getting long and I think I have made my point. Maybe I am just too old to be joking around that shit all the time anymore. But from what I have seen, I wouldn't hire the biggest part of you. Not because you are bad at what you're doing, but because what you say makes you look absolutely unprofessional.
But then again, this is devrant and I love you all. Have a great week everyone!21 -
In few hours I was with client showing his website after long time coding and designing.
Client: I think this is it, here your final $$
Me: Me thanks sir and bye
A guy came in.
Client: Oh! Wait, this guy is our it expert let see if he have any advise.
Me: Oops! Okay
Guy: So this website will showcase our products
Me: Yes,
Guy: What about security because I just got news that Russian hacked one big company.
Me: I don’t think Russian have time to hack your one page website
Out of the door...3 -
Generic-IT
--------------
Client:"So we would like to found a new company and offer IT and network consulting. Would you be able to build our website?"
Me:"Absolutely. What will be the name of your company?"
Client:"The name is going to be 'Generic-IT'. The website is going to be 'generic-IT.com' . We checked that with google."
Me:"I am sorry to tell you that generic.com is already taken by another company. Incidentally that company offers the same services, that you intend to offer. They also seem to be quite big an have businesses in 5 different countries.
Because of this I advise you to pick a different name that does not get you into trouble and makes positioning your own brand easier."
Client:"We want to neglect that problem for now."
Me:"0.0 ..... -_-""""
"Well, listen. Apart from the possible branding and copyright problems imagine how people will find you on the web. ...What will happen if you google 'generic IT'?"
Client:"Yeah well, we want to neglect that. And with SEO you can do something about that."
Me:"..........Welllll, you that SEO is not a cure all, right? The older an bigger company will come up first. Why not avoid that missunderstanding and come up with a unique name?"
Client:"......"
Me:"Please tell me. Doesn't any part of my argument make sense to you?"
Client:"..."
Me:"Well, ok. I will send you the estimate on monday."
___________
Then over a back channel I hear that the client is ...bewildered, why I would not stick to my area of expertise.
There I was now. Left bewildered myself, being the one with the webagency that does frontend design and branding.undefined naming bewilderment clients expertise company culture branding brain dead sadness startup brain fart boundaries7 -
Woohoo! 32k achieved!!! Finally I can post some new rant without risking some sudden overshoot 😁
So putting celebrations aside for a minute, a while ago I've noticed a tingle when I stroke my finger across metal areas of my tablet, or the sides of my phone (which probably has metal near it too) while it's charging. And it's been bugging me ever since.
Now, some things to note are that it only happens when my feet are touching the ground though slippers, and that the frequency is so low that I can actually feel the tingle when I slide my finger across the material. This to me at least seems like electricity flows through me into ground, and touching the ground directly provides a path so easy for the electrons to run away that I don't feel it at all. But if I lift my feet off the ground entirely, I just get charged up and after that, nothing else happens.
So those are my ideas. The answers on the subject on the other hand.. absolute cancer. Unsurprisingly, most of them came from Apple users. Here's some of them.
https://discussions.apple.com/threa...
- I've not noticed it, but if you're concerned bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.
- Me too facing same problem.. did u visit apple care?
And one good answer at least...
- google emf sensitivity, its real. You are right, there is a small current flowing through your body, try to limit your usage. The problem with this issue is those who aren't affected (lucky ones for now) will tell you these products are 100% safe. To a degree they are, i used my ipod touch for about 2 years straight vwith virtually no symptoms. then the tingling started and it gets worse. You will get more sensitive to progressively less powerful things. I dont want to scare you but just limit your usage like i didnt do 🙂
Overall that discussion was pretty good actually, aside from "bring it to the Genius Bar, they'll know for sure and not just sell you another unit". But then there's Reddit.
https://reddit.com/r/iphone/...
- Ok, real reason is probably that the extension cord and/or outlet is probably not grounded correctly. Either that or you are using a cheap knockoff charger.
Either use a surge protector and/or use the authentic Apple Charger.
- It's not the volts that hurt you, it's the amps
- I think you are in deep love with your phone. That tingling sensation is usually referred to as "love" in human language.
- Do less acid, I would advise.
Okay, so that's the real cancer. Grounding issue sounds reasonable despite it being wrong. Grounding is actually not needed when your charging appliance doesn't have any exposed metal parts. And isolation from high voltage to low voltage side actually happens through things like routering holes into the PCB, creating spark gaps, and using galvanic isolation through things like optocouplers. As for a surge protector? I'm using them to protect my PC and my servers, but the only purpose they serve is to protect from.. you guessed it.. voltage surges, like lightning bolts hitting the grid. They don't do shit for grounding or reducing this tingle! What a fucking tool.
It's not the volts that kill, it's the amps.. yeah I'm sure that the debunking of that is easy to find. Not gonna explain that here. And the rest of it.. yeah it's just fucking cancer.
Now what's the real issue with this tingle? It's actually a Class-Y rated (i.e. kV rated) capacitor that's on the transformer of any switch-mode power supply, including phone chargers. If memory serves me right, it helps with decoupling the switching noise and so on. But as it's connected to the primary side of the transformer, if the cap is sufficiently large and you are sufficiently sensitive, it can actually cause that tingle by passing a fraction of the mains electricity into your body. It's totally safe though, as the power that these caps pass is very small. But to some, it's noticeable.
Hope you found this interesting! And thanks a lot for bringing me to 2^15. I really appreciate it ♥️

One of the people I supervise is “Mary,” a woman in her early 20s. Every time she gets critical feedback (even very mild and accompanied by praise), she turns bright red and starts crying … like, a lot. Tears streaming down her face. Other than that, though, she responds calmly and rationally. She carries a handkerchief and just mops up the tears and continues the conversation. One of the first times this happened, I asked if she was okay, and she said that it’s “just a physical response to stress” and confided that she’s getting cognitive behavioral therapy to learn to control it. Honestly, I think she’s handling the whole thing with a lot of professionalism and maturity.
I am her direct supervisor, but she also reports to two of my (male) colleagues, one of whom is a VP in my company. I recently overheard them talking about Mary, saying that her crying is uncomfortable, unprofessional, and “stupid.” Mary is a great employee, and I want to do whatever I can to protect her job and reputation within the company. Should I say something to my colleagues? Should I advise her to say something?24 -
So my boss booked me a spot at a conference about "the future of online payments" and I received an email with auto created account (there was no sign up) with a clear text password.
I'm feeling pretty confident that I can trust them to guide and advise me on best practices when it comes to handling sensitive information.

Fucking phone company just sent me a notification, CCing all other business customers they have in Sydney. I am going to sign all those customers to a porn newsletter, and then advise them about the privacy breach.11

I've been away, lurking at the shadows (aka too lazy to actually log in) but a post from a new member intrigued me; this is dedicated to @devAstated . It is erratic, and VERY boring.
When I resigned from the Navy, I got a flood of questions from EVERY direction, from the lower rank personnel and the higher ups (for some reason, the higher-ups were very interested on what the resignation procedure was...). A very common question was, of course, why I resigned. This requires a bit of explaining (I'll be quick, I promise):
In my country, being in the Navy (or any public sector) means you have a VERY stable job position; you can't be fired unless you do a colossal fuck-up. Reduced to non-existent productivity? No problem. This was one of the reasons for my resignation, actually.
However, this is also used as a deterrent to keep you in, this fear of lack of stability and certainty. And this is the reason why so many asked me why I left, and what was I going to do, how was I going to be sure about my job security.
I have a simple system. It can be abused, but if you are careful, it may do you and your sanity good.
It all begins with your worth, as an employee (I assume you want to go this way, for now). Your worth is determined by the supply of your produced work, versus the demand for it. I work as a network and security engineer. While network engineers are somewhat more common, security engineers are kind of a rarity, and the "network AND security engineer" thing combined those two paths. This makes the supply of my work (network and security work from the same employee) quite limited, but the demand, to my surprise, is actually high.
Of course, this is not something easy to achieve, to be in the superior bargaining position - usually it requires great effort and many, many sleepless nights. Anyway....
Finding a field that has more demand than there is supply is just one part of the equation. You must also keep up with everything (especially with the tech industry, that changes with every second). The same rules apply when deciding on how to develop your skills: develop skills that are in short supply, but high demand. Usually, such skills tend to be very difficult to learn and master, hence the short supply.
You probably got asleep by now.... WAKE UP THIS IS IMPORTANT!
Now, to job security: if you produce, say, 1000$ of work, then know this:
YOU WILL BE PAID LESS THAN THAT. That is how the company makes profit. However, to maximize YOUR profit, and to have a measure of job security, you have to make sure that the value of your produced work is high. This is done by:
- Producing more work by working harder (hard method)
- Producing more work by working smarter (smart method)
- Making your work more valuable by acquiring high demand - low supply skills (economics method)
The hard method is the simplest, but also the most precarious - I'd advise the other two. Now, if you manage to produce, say, 3000$ worth of work, you can demand for 2000$ (numbers are random).
And here is the thing: any serious company wants employees that produce much more than they cost. The company will strive to pay them with as low a salary as it can get away with - after all, a company seeks to maximize its profit. However, if you have high demand - low supply skills, which means that you are more expensive to be replaced than you are to be paid, then guess what? You have unlocked god mode: the company needs you more than you need the company. Don't get me wrong: this is not an excuse to be unprofessional or unreasonable. However, you can look your boss in the eye. Believe me, most people out there can't.
Even if your company fails, an employee with valuable skills that brings profit tends to be snatched very quickly. If a company fires profitable employees, unless it hires more profitable employees to replace them, it has entered the spiral of death and will go bankrupt with mathematical certainty. Also, said fired employees tend to be absorbed quickly; after all, they bring profit, and companies are all about making the most profit.
It was a long post, and somewhat incoherent - the coffee buzz is almost gone, and the coffee crash is almost upon me. I'd like to hear the insight of the veterans; I estimate that it will be beneficial for the people that start out in this industry.2 -
I had a huge epiphany on Friday... not all developers enjoy coding.
Discovered when they brought down 2 of our environments, well told them what was wrong with the changes in their code that caused the environments to break, gave them links directly to the file in the gitlab repo that needed to be updated, and...
They fucking went home. The change would’ve taken all of about 30-45 seconds to update and they fucking left.
This person’s team lead come storming in pissed off because her manager is furious about 2 environments going down and preventing everyone else from being able to deploy their changes.
We provide the exact same details to the team lead about what needs to be changed, and advise that her team member took off....
30 mins later, her manager is storming up to us (devops/sre) livid as hell.
Explain the situation for a third time... manager is like, why can’t you guys fix it?
Look here you dense motherfuckers, we can fix the code. We can be the plumbers that clean up your shit. But what value do you gain as a developer if you don’t understand how the systems work and you keep pushing shit in?
Made the changes, fixed the environments, done right? Wrong.
The original developer made more changes not knowing what would happen and thoroughly fucked the environments again.
This dumb-fucking dumpster fire of a dude then sends us a slack message. “It’s down again, can you fix it?”
Our manager steps in and tells us to send him a link to the logs and have him fix it himself!
Thank goodness we have a badass manager.
Send logs, send repo file links (again), and send line numbers in the logs to try and help just a bit more. Dude goes almost the whole day without fixing it, environments are down, other devs are pissed, we throw this dude to the wolves. His manager starts to head over and was about to talk with my team lead when our manager steps out of his office and tells him the in’s and out’s of the situation and that our job isn’t to play log parser/error fixer for the developers. This dude that’s breaking the environments needs to be the one to fix the issue and his team lead should be aware of the problems and should have been able to correct his errors before it ever came to us.
The amount of hand-holding we do is ridiculous.
(Disclaimer, this one guy making some mistakes doesn’t sound too bad, but this is actually a common occurrence for like 40% of all of our developers)
We literally have interns still in college running circles around some of our full time devs. I know I’m not a developer, but for anyone that’s new-ish to developing, when you see shit like that please don’t lose hope. Those ass-hats got into programming purely for a paycheck, not because of passion.
Stick with it and your greatness will know no bounds 👍
As for you craptastic dipstick lickers, FUCK YOU!!! Go back to school and learn how to give a damn.4 -
When you advise coworkers to do something one way because you know better but they do it their way anyway so this is you when shit hits the fan.
-
Good morning everyone, don't accidently drop any tables today.
In fact, I'd advise you don't move your furniture around. Apparently it's very dangerous to devs.5 -
My first times today:
First time a droplet on Digital Ocean.
First time Nginx.
First time trying to separate mail and website servers.
First time using UFW firewall.
First time Ubuntu webserver.
First try all alone configuration of my webserver.
First time installing all the stuff I need on my own, like MySQL, PHP and so on.
First time only SSH access from the beginning.
First time deployment from bitbucket.
Do you have any advise what I should think about. Or what software I will need. Or what I should think about.45 -
If you're planning to be a new entrepreneur (like me) here's a few things to keep in mind:
1) it'll keep getting harder but it's all worth it. Do not quit mid way no matter how hard it gets.
2) stop asking everyone for advice, they'll either be assholes or you'll end up getting confused by too much contradicting advice.
3) regardless of point 2, people will still advise you on everything (ikr). Listen to them, and if you don't agree with it... Do not bother to correct them, never helps... Just ignore it
4) if some one is an asshole to you or someone shoots your idea down, don't get discouraged. Reflect on it and if it's irrelevant, forget it all. Do not try to be an asshole back, always take the higher road.
P.S I'm also still learning... Hope you all very best for your endeavours :)6 -
I need help from mobile app development experts. I need help to create a mobile application for money transfers. If not difficult, then recommend the developers who can advise me.2
-
Yes former technical person who is now a business person. Please, please advise me on my job with your decaying outdated skills. Yes, google for me. I didn't know how to do that. Ah wonderful yes, you recall this being "easy" which is why you quit the field. What a nice time this is.3

oh, it got better!
One year ago I got fed up with my daily chores at work and decided to build a robot that does them, and does them better and with higher accuracy than I could ever do (or either of my teammates). So I did it. And since it was my personal initiative, I wasn't given any spare time to work on it. So that leaves gaps between my BAU tasks and personal time after working hours.
Regardless, I spent countless hours building the thing. It's not very large, ~50k LoC, but for a single person with very little time, it's quite a project to make.
The result is a pure-Java slack-bot and a REST API that's utilized by the bot. The bot knows how to parse natural language, how to reply responses in human-friendly format and how to shout out errors in human-friendly manner. Also supports conversation contexts (e.g. asks for additional details if needed before starting some task), and some other bells and whistles. It's a pretty cool automaton with a human-friendly human-like UI.
A year goes by. Management decides that another team should take this project over. Well okay, they are the client, the code is technically theirs.
The team asks me to do the knowledge transfer. Sounds reasonable. Okay.. I'll do it. It's my baby, you are taking it over - sure, I'll teach you how to have fun with it.
Then they announce they will want to port this codebase to use an excessive, completely rudimentary framework (in this project) and hog of resources - Spring. I was startled... They have a perfectly running lightweight pure-java solution, suitable for lambdas (starts up in 0.3sec), having complete control over all the parts of the machinery. And they want to turn it into a clunky, slow monster, riddled with Reflection, limited by the framework, allowing (and often encouraging) bad coding practices.
When I asked "what problem does this codebase have that Spring is going to solve" they replied me with "none, it's just that we're more used to maintaining Spring projects"
sure... why not... My baby is too pretty and too powerful for you - make it disgusting first thing in the morning! You own it anyway..
Then I am asked to consult them on how is it best to make the port. How to destroy my perfectly isolated handlers and merge them into monstrous @Controller classes with shared contexts and stuff. So you not only want to kill my baby - you want me to advise you on how to do it best.
sure... why not...
I did what I was asked until they ran into classloader conflicts (Spring context has its own classloaders). A few months later the port is not yet complete - the Spring version does not boot up. And they accidentally mention that a demo is coming. They'll be demoing that degenerate abomination to the VP.
The port was far from ready, so they were going to use my original version. And once again they asked me "what do you think we should show in the demo?"
You took my baby. You want to mutilate it. You want me to advise on how to do that best. And now you want me to advise on "which angle would it be best to look at it".
I wasn't invited to the demo, but my colleagues were. After the demo they told me mgmt asked those devs "why are you porting it to Spring?" and they answered with "because Spring will open us lots of possibilities for maintenance and extension of this project"
That hurts.
I can take a lot. But man, that hurts.
I wonder what else have they planned for me...rant slack idiocy project takeover automation hurts bot frameworks poor decision spring mutilation java9 -
I got hired to run an A/B test between a competitor landing page and a new page. While I didn’t do the new page initial design, I did advise on and completed its final tweaks. The result was a 430% increase in leads generated over the original.

I used to kill some time reading devrant some years ago and I just stopped because most rants were basically whinny little teenagers that think they know everything, keepers of knowledge and truth, being clearly crying babies about “ boo-hooo my coworker is not using the language I like” or something they clearly still have a lot to learn about.
Grow the fuck up. I guarantee you that when you have a few more years of experience you’ll realize how little you knew and how great you thought you were when in reality you knew shit.
Hell, I’m on my 16th year of programming experience and what o thought I knew last year had so many knowledge gaps.
Friendly advise, be more humble. You know shit. Get off your high horse and consider for a second you’re not as smart you think you are.
With that said, there are some really good rants here. But it didn’t change much from years ago.10 -
I really enjoy my old Kindle Touch rather than reading long pdf's on a tablet or desktop. The Kindle is much easier on my eyes plus some of my pdf's are critical documents needed to recover business processes and systems. During a power outage a tablet might only last a couple of days even with backup power supplies, whereas my Kindle is good for at least 2 weeks of strong use.
Ok, to get a pdf on a Kindle is simple - just email the document to your Kindle email address listed in your Amazon –Settings – Digital Content – Devices - Email. It will be <<something>>@kindle.com.
But there is a major usability problem reading pdf's on a Kindle. The font size is super tiny and you do not have font control as you do with a .MOBI (Kindle) file. You can enlarge the document but the formatting will be off the small Kindle screen. Many people just advise to not read pdf's on a Kindle. devRanters never give up and fortunately there are some really cool solutions to make pdf's verrrrry readable and enjoyable on a Kindle
There are a few cloud pdf- to-.MOBI conversion solutions but I had no intention of using a third party site my security sensitive business content. Also, in my testing of sample pdf's the formatting of the .MOBI file was good but certainly not great.
So here are a couple option I discovered that I find useful:
Solution 1) Very easy. Simply email the pdf file to your Kindle and put 'convert' in the subject line. Amazon will convert the pdf to .MOBI and queue it up to synch the next time you are on wireless. The final e-book .MOBI version of the pdf is readable and has all of the .MOBI options available to you including the ability for you to resize fonts and maintain document flow to properly fit the Kindle screen. Unfortunately, for my requirements it did not measure-up to Solution 2 below which I found much more powerful.
Solution 2) Very Powerful. This solution takes under a minute to convert a pdf to .MOBI and the small effort provides incredible benefits to fine tune the final .MOBI book. You can even brand it with your company information and add custom search tags. In addition, it can be used for many additional input and output files including ePub which is used by many other e-reader devices including The Nook.
The free product I use is Calibre. Lots of options and fine control over documents. I download it from calibre-ebook.com. Nice UI. Very easy to import various types of documents and output to many other types of formats such as .MOBI, ePub, DocX, RTF, Zip and many more. It is a very powerful program. I played with various Calibre options and emailed the formatted .MOBI files to my Kindle. The new files automatically synched to the Kindle when I was wireless in seconds. Calibre did a great job!!
The formatting was 99.5% perfect for the great majority of pdf’s I converted and now happily read on my Kindle. Calibre even has a built-in heuristic option you can try that enables it to figure out how to improve the formatting of the raw pdf. By default it is not enabled. A few of the wider tables in my business continuity plans I have to scroll on the limited Kindle screen but I was able to minimize that by sizing the fonts and controlling the source document parameters.
Now any pdf or other types of documents can be enjoyed on a light, cheap, super power efficient e-reader. Let me know if this info helped you in any way.

Last year I went to a job interview. Companies senior developer was taking my interview. After few questions, he advise me that I should learn HTML 5.3. I thought he must be fucking with me so I said HTML 5.3 has not released yet. actually HTML 5.1 has not released yet. He looked so serious about HTML 5.3. I don't know why?3

We developed an application and deployed on production (but not launched)
And business team already created lot of garbage or dummy data. Reporting systems are huge pile of bars, stats and shit.
Now, has to destroy and clean production.
Already advise them to do experiments or testing dev or staging.
Damn. First time in my career experienced this. Has to delete production.4 -
Part 2 of this rant: https://devrant.com/rants/933393/...
Today I received the source code of the application, it has like four views but guess what, all four views have their controllers in one controller.js file that is about 1400 lines of code.
Also all their data models are in one file,
everything is in one file.
Does anyone know how to make it through that shit :(16 -
As a pretty solid Angular dev getting thrown a react project over the fence by his PM I can say:
FUCK REACT!
It is nigh impossible to write well structured, readable, well modularized code with it and not twist your mind in recursion from "lift state up" and "rendercycle downwards only"
Try writing a modular modal as a modern function component with interchangeable children (passeable to the component as it should be) that uses portals and returns the result of the passed children components.
Closest I found to it is:
c o d e s a n d b o x.io/s/7w6mq72l2q
(and its a fucking nightmare logic wise and readability wise)
And also I still wouldn't know right of the bat how to get the result from the passed child components with all the oneway binding CLUSTERFUCK.
And even if you manage to there is no chance to do it async as it should be.
You HAVE to write a lot of "HTML" tags in the DOM that practically should not be anywhere but in async functions.
In Angular this is a breeze and works like a charm.
Its not even much gray matter to it...
I can´t comprehend how companies decide to write real big web apps with it.
They must be a MESS to maintain.
For a small "four components that show a counter and fetch user images" - OK.
But fo a big webapp with a big team etc. etc.?
Asking stuff about it on Stackoverflow I got edited unsolicited as fuck and downvoted as fuck in an instant.
Nobody explained anything or even cared to look at my Stackblitz.
Unsolicited edit, downvote, closevote and of they go - no help provided whatsoever.
Its completely fine if you don't have time to help strangers - but then at least do not stomp on beginners like that.
I immediately regretted asking a toxic community like this something that I genuinely seem to not understand. Wasn't SO about helping people?
I deleted my post there and won't be coming back and doing something productive there anytime soon.
Out of respect for my clients budget I'm now doing it the ugly react way and forget about my software architecture standards but as soon as I can I will advise switching to Angular.
If you made it here: WOW

Hi everyone,
I am working in a company where the pay is not that great but i am learning newer technologies here. And now I am getting a offer from a company where the pay will be decent but not so sure that I will learn that much.
Need advise which one should i choose.7 -
Most succesful project was around this time last year.
A scary club of privacy haters made a 'webapp' to advise people what to vote for in the national elections.
The tool was really bad in multiple ways. For instance, if two parties would score the same amount of points, one would, at random take second place without conveying this to the user.
Oh and it also collected all the data people entered "for scientific purposes". A very sketchy practice, a non profit, funded by the government and George Soros (I kid you not, illuminatie confirmed ;) ).
The tool had this disclaimer on the bottom, saying this webapp needs cookies to function. So that triggered me to make a copy of the tool that works better and ... offline, and without cookies. You could download a html file and turn of your wifi (for the paranoid ppl among us), use the tool, delete the file. No trace.
It was a little bit of tung and cheek project, a gimick, the original was called stemwijzer, mine was called offline stemwijzer.
It was a one day build and a day after launching I got a call of the original stemwijzer project leader. Demanding to take the thing offline for infringing copyright (yeah sort of was). I tried to explain him why I made this and why privacy for such things should be held in high regard. He basicly told me I was talking shit and did not want to discuss, I told him I don't take stuff offline because of phone calls. I told him to email me a seist and desist.
So that guy prolly had a stressful day (because of the launch of his tool), had a few glasses of wine, and wrote an email. He wrote me I was a pathtic kid and I should do more useful stuff. He wrote that anyone could program a tool like that. And he wrote me I should do him a favour not share this email with my measly amount of twitter followers. Super professional email.
So I did him that favour, I did not share it with my twitter followers, I shared it with one of the largest political blogs in the country.
My tool sort of took of after that. To stop infringing copy right I changed the name and I removed their content from the script and wrote instructions on how to copy and paste in the json content yourself and "make your own tool".
The response was great, people actually emailed me job offers and I think that the current job I have is due to the succes of said project. So be balsy, challenge giants, start riots, it will get you places.2 -
Hello everyone!
This is a kinda follow up to my previous rant:
https://devrant.com/rants/1442655/...
So, it’s been a week since I started the internship. I am kinda lost to be honest.
The first day was awesome, but I have been going downhill since then. I make so stupid mistakes and it seems like I always think different than my mentor/employer (me making mistakes). Then he corrects me and I have to rewrite the code which I had to spend hours to think and get working. 😕😕
As @RantSomeWhere said, the guy is actually nice and still appreciates me and helps me all the time. I am really thankful for that. 🙂
As @plant99 said, I do have to be working a lot to try and meet the tasks that I am given. The employer does tell me to not over work but I still do if I have to, to get the thing done. I don’t feel nice if I don’t finish the work. So I do spend up to 12 hours (not continuously) on it at times. 😅
The code base… oh my god!! It is so bad (to me). Don’t get me wrong, we use the linting and auto formatting tools, but I can’t get over the 2 space tabs in C++ code. It makes me feel like I am not looking at code but at paragraphs of mumbo jumbo stuff. 😭😭
Oh and yes, it is confirmed. I HATE FRONTEND WORK! Especially when languages like JS and C++ are used in combination and interact with each other. 😨😨😱😱
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate JS or frontend, but I hate doing it myself. So not my cup of tea. Kudos to those who actually do it! 😎👏🏻🎊
Overall, I guess, it is going decently. I feel so scared at times, consumed by the fear, that my code will be wrong and he’ll be disappointed in me. Yea I know that I shouldn’t be upset with how others feel. But it does make me sad when I disappoint my mentor (who is still rooting for me). 🙁
I am hoping to get better over time. This is definitely a great experience for me because my code has never been judged before. I have always been the “king of code” in my college/social circle. 🤭🤭
Honestly, this is actually humbling. I guess I definitely needed this 😅😅. And as they say, you don’t improve by being the top. You improve by leaping forward, ending up at the bottom of the heap of the next level, and growing up from there. 😅
Oh and I also realized - remunerative benefits are DEFINITELY motivating 😂😂😂😂
And the 5 days work also definitely makes me MUCH more excited for the weekends 😆😆😂😂
Thanks everyone for cheering, motivating, and giving me advise.
@oudalally I definitely found your advise quite helpful 😁😁😊😊
PS: ooh this my biggest rant/story yet! Yiiipppeeeeeee 😁😁😊😊7 -

Question time for you very few Salesforce devs out there, yea I know there’s some.
Seeing as Google is not my friend today, I’m trying to get SOQL to return null valued fields back to a rest api, something this hunk of shit won’t do, and short of looping back through all the records and injecting these fields back in, I’m at a loss... any advise is welcome 🤯 -
I was just asked to explore Ionic Framework any advise?
Please tell me I will not face hell doing an ionic app :(
I started reading docs and the word Cordova appears to be used a lot, I had a really bad experience with Cordova + PhoneGap, am I in trouble? am I going to regret life?10 -
About starting your career at a medium-bigger company that's well-established, versus starting at a smaller company.
That's my point of view:
It's always wiser to begin at a company that's more established (you will also be sure that you will get paid on time). I started at a well-established company, and I managed to buy gear, travel, do stuff, and then I realised that I wanna do more, not only live to work 😎.
Smaller companies are kinda risky, think of it, their goal is to reach the level of a well-established company, which is some levels lower than that. On the other hand, if you do well at a smaller company, your next goal will be to work for a bigger company, which will surely be nicer, more professional and will pay better. So you will have managed to et there with all the skills in your pocket already, which will come in handy later!
Bigger companies are excellent if you have a family (wife and kids), they provide stability, that's the most important thing, but I believe that in order to get "settled" in a company like that, you should at least have tried something else first, like doing your own thing or get challenged in more complicated gigs that require you to up your skills.
In the end, it's all sun and fun, with you code editor by your side 😉. I'm interested to see your opinions.1 -
I want to share this story and need your advise.
When I was teaching exisiting team members about git and new iOS development ecosystem. I was changing the whole ios development practices and processes that time. One of my teammates wasn’t listening, when implementing the new ios development practices and standards, he actually screwed all of the projects.
He’s been with us for 2 years and he even don’t know how to use git. He forcefully push his changes without pulling our changes first. I was so angry that I reported him to my manager to address this matter. And then my manager told me, he is aware of my teammate’s incapabilities. He said he was planning to terminate him, and he is been thinking about it for 3 months.
When the judgement day came, we were in the meeting room. My manager told us the bad news that one of us will be terminated. During the meeting he said, “I am sorry, {my teammate’s name}. You will be out of the team due to {reason of termination}. {my name} reported to me that you dont meet the deadline, you are always late with 2 weekly sprint to your tickets”. As my manager keeps talking, my teammate look at me with his eyes so angry together with his girlfriend (her girlfriend is part of mobile team, but she is focused on UI/UX).
After my manager stops talking, her girlfriend started crying and said I was the one who should be terminated. Her reason was that I keep on giving difficult tasks to his boyfriend, that’s why he is always late to report. In my defense, those tasks are not difficult, most of his tasks is just changing the color of labels, changing layouts. If you are an iOS developer you know how easy it is to change font colors, changing the layouts using storyboards. Her girlfriend keeps on rambling that I should be the one needs to be terminated.
After few days, he left the team and surprisingly his girlfriend stayed and we never talk to each other except anything about work.
I am really pissed guys. Now my teammates think I am the bad guy asking my manager to terminate anyone in the team if I feel to. I feel very very not good in my work now. I can’t function what I used to. The termination of my teammate was already planned why am I should take the blame?16 -
That one client who feels entitled to immediate feedback and response from you, yet they're not paying you on retainer and know good and well that you have other clients. Then they get condescending in their emails and cop an attitude when you (nicely I might add) advise them to find another developer if they want people to micro manage.
Yeah, I just fired that client. Not dealing with this anymore. Good thing about being a contractor is that you have the freedom to walk and have a backup plan. And if they try to come back, I'm hiking the rates if I even take them back at all.
😎✌️ -
Boss: so let's get AWS in to ask their advise on the new architecture, but let's not bother involving the systems architect who actually knows what is going on.

This is a public service announcement with a threat at the end of it:
"Do not, I repeat, do NOT attempt to write web applications, or any particular sort of application that works with a relational database (damn near more than half of applications) without a PROPER grasp and knowledge of SQL.
I do not want to see you reaching out for an ORM either, no, you need to learn to properly design a database or to properly interact with them AT most before you even attempt using an ORM OR designing an application from the beginning, shit will only hurt you in the long term I promise, learning SQL can go a looooong fucking way and most DBA's I know make way tf more than people think they make, it might even be an interesting career choice"
If you do not follow the above advise, and I see your ass reaching for building a web application without the above knowledge I will be under your bed at night, putting oil in my hairy body before I jump into bed to you and leave you confused for the rest of your life.
Build to learn, YES, but for the love of Chamberlain and Boyce PLEASE do not neglect SQL. I have seen such neglect REACH production and I am currently wishing I had these mfkers close to me.9 -

I recently have been delegated the responsibility of managing a 4 people team by planning the sprints, scheduling tasks, and in general "take charge" (as said by the boss).
What bothers me is there is this "developer" with a heavily toxic attitude, who feels he is above all laws and knows everything just because he joined some months ago all of us.
He is basically a human linter. When he code reviews, you can get away with any major mistake if your linting and indentation (and all that shit) is according to "his standards".
A new guy recently joined the team and was given an overwhelming task by the boss just to test whether he belongs here. (Again, wrong, in my opinion). He didn't know any of the technologies he needs to work on to complete that task but he still learnt them and got a working product. Albeit not according to our God's "standards".
Cut to the chase, the asshole dev is now mocking him in PR comments and demeaning him in every discussion. As a "team lead", what should I do? If I let it go, it'll make the environment toxic and I don't want him to get away with it. If I do take any action, I don't want to be seen as as pussy who can't take such minor insults. Please advise.
PS. The asshole developer once wrote a "friend request accept" API endpoint in such a way that when any single person accepts a request, that'll cause all pending requests (from any person to any person) get accepted. Fucked up the DB queries basically. This is just to give a perspective on what I'm dealing with here.4 -
The client wants the booking project to be all in JS Framework (not specifying any) and NO PHP since client hates PHP (and I don't know why) from the very beginning when the only dev was my former front-end partner (lead dev).
I was wondering why the client still continued the project, YET the file extensions were still on PHP. I asked the lead dev what happened and answered he didn't know know how to start migrating to JS framework and just started NATIVE PHP.
Still, as being a good dev and a supporter to lead dev, did accept and the project as lead dev's assistant. Fixed bugs, enhancement and responsive (DEMMIT, I FREAKING HATE RESPONSIVE) and later complained why am I doing front-end tasks, when it's not my task, supposedly. I EXPECTED MORE ON BACK-END TASKS!
(HERE'S THE EPIC ADVISE GOES AND CALLED OURSELVES MASTER)
Me: Master, why did you not started the project in JS Framework instead of native php?
Lead Dev : You know what master, this project has been already done if the client allows US to use WordPress for this project will still be migrated to JS. And now, WE are trapped to make every window size be responsive since there are already a standard for each window screen.
Me: (DO NOT INCLUDE ME IN YOUR FUCKING SORCERY! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU DID THERE AND WHY D'YOU ACCEPT THIS PROJECT, SLAVE, WHEN YOU ALREADY KNOW YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT, IN THE FIRST PLACE. STOP BEING A DICKHEAD AND DO NOT WASTE CLIENT'S MONEY AND EFFORT FOR YOUR USELESS BUNCH OF SHIT!) Indeed, responsive is a such a pain in the arse.
Lead Dev: Maybe, let's just finish our tasks first and wait the project to be migrated to JS.
P.S. The project manager and client asked me if I do know how to migrate the project from native PHP to JS framework and sabotaged lead dev. OFCOURSE, YES! But, I did not respond that quickly, unless eerm, you know, I earn greater than lead dev. Truth be told and practically speaking, it's really unfair for me if I accept the back-job when the lead dev delivers inaccurate deliverables and earned greater than me. No way, Jose!
Now, I am not working with him because I'm super done with him and later did I know, lead dev is looking for Drupal dev to be working for the booking project. -
How do you prove yourself?
I'm an iOS developer and I've been developing apps for a year or two now and I don't see anything hard in it I just think it's knowing how to wire things up and avoid common bugs I've also worked on a couple of complex apps and the idea is just the same.
I want to know if I really want to prove myself well (to myself) how can I do that and how can I challenge myself more to improve.
Ps: I'm by no way an expert and I know I've got a big road ahead of me but I just want advise to improve more in the right direction5 -

As a something-designer and content writer, you would say I am pretty much used with people stealing my ideas and then bragging with them, right? Well, yeah, but not when I am fucking backstabbed by my OWN FUCKING ASSHOLE-FIANCE (hi, hun).
In our little depressing family, I am the one with ideas. One day he starts to work at a little very basic app and he starts bragging with it at me (mostly disrupting me while working). So I start giving him ideas based on what he experienced at work and what he could add to this management app so nobody will get the same shit as he did + several things + I basically designed it from scratch, how it should look, what it should do, who should access what etc. Anyway, he starts implementing them and then I told him „Well this is nice, how about we sell it”. I advise him on what kind of possible clients he should search for and how to negotiate and etc. Well, he goes to a meeting with somebody interested in this application, after, he calls me back AND HE HAD THE NERVE TO SAY THIS TO ME :
- Good news, MY APPLICATION would lead us in*blabla* market.
BITCH, YOU BETTER SLAP YOURSELF `CAUZ EXCEPT FOR THE CODE THAT SHIT IS MINE ALMOST FROM SCRATCH. SO SCREW YOU AND YOUR FUCKING NEED TO SUCK YOUR OWN DICK.

I suffer with anxiety.
I took pills (pristiq), but side effects almost ended with my marriage.
And now I'm having more problems. Even a message from my boss trigger me and I can't think properly.

How do you deal with anxiety?6 -
So i informed my intent to leave the job in few months in pursuit of learning something new in tech. Boss is trying to convince me to not leave and said i should consider learning it after work hours. In fact, in his opinion, the best way to learn is just going ahead and learning it while doing it in the project ( which usually has impossible deadline and fugly code by colleagues who never thinks of good coding practices when typing their shit ).
Well guess what boss, I don't want to just live a life staring at monitor all day. I don't want to kill my eyes either.
Following his advise and not quitting would mean living a slave life.
I have other plans actually. Like being self employed and traveling the world which would be impossible if i follow the routine life.
Fun fact: he claimed he made an AI car back in 90s!
He also thinks I can't sense BS!😏2 -
I've been inspired by cpg grey (I think that's the name), mainly his 10 tips on how to be miserable, to write a blog or some kind of post explaining the 8 things you need to do if you hate your coworkers and want your codebase to go to shit.
So it'll be like a anti-SOLID, anti-pattern type of blog promoting every code smell imaginable
I feel like 8 tips to fuck up your codebase (php perhaps) might he more memorable than actual helpful advise. I'm sure that this has been done before, but I was wondering:
Do you think this would be effective? Would it help people understand why not to do the 8 tips? Does this reverse psychology work?3 -
Java Vs. C++
Ok, so I know a bit of Java, still lots to learn but isn't there always! My question to all you poly-linguist programmers is; once you know the basics of OOP are there any obvious hurdles in learning new languages? For instance - do you sometimes accidentally use some Java in C++? Would you all advise to stick to one language and learn it to genius level or does it make you a better programmer to understand a multitude of languages?

Android dev here.
Been working on this team for one year now. Greatest collaborators I've ever worked with. Feels like we're all working off of the same brain. But this is not about my team. Parallel to ours, there's the iOS team. And if I said they're disfunctional, that'd still be underselling it.
They're atleast 2 sprints behind android on the same features, the junior devs are trying their best to sync up and code their way. But the senior guy has a stick up his bum or something. Keeps shooting down prs left and right. The iOS guys come up to me (I'm the only one in office, rest of android is at a different site) asking for logic changes or UI changes and the like. Although I do have some iOS experience, I can't really get involved, because it's a different codebase and team. Feels very much like office politics.
I feel sorry for the team. Really makes you grateful to have good team members. Any advise I could give them would be welcome.24 -

Some people may remember me posting about our rabbits a while ago.
Sadly they both passed away a few weeks back.
They were both a little over a year old and died within 4 days of each other, one on Wednesday morning and then one on the Saturday morning.
After about 1200 in emergency vets fees and another 500 for a post mortem on Spencer (who died on Saturday) we found out the vets had fucked up their vaccinations.
In the U.K. it is recommended that rabbits are vaccinated against 3 viruses Myxomatosis (Myxo), Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Variant 1 (RHD1), and Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease Variant 2 (RHD2).
They got their vaccinations for Myxo and RHD1 in January, and went back two weeks later for their RHD2 vaccination.
Now it turns out, when they went back for the second vaccination they were incorrectly given the Myxo and RHD1 vaccinations again.
The lab results showed Spencer had RHD, but not which variant and it is safe to assume Frank also has RHD.
The vets were going to get another lab to test for the variant but decided not too (funny that they don’t want to confirm whether it was their fuck up that killed two otherwise perfectly healthy rabbits).
The wife and I are considering getting legal advise.
What fucks me off so much is that it wasn’t a situation where there were two possible courses of treatment, or they didn’t respond to treatment, it was just a human fucking up.
The practice manager also like to keep mentioning that vaccines aren’t 100% effective, and because they won’t test for the variant of RHD we will never know 100% whether their fuck up killed our rabbits.
I’m contemplating trying to get in touch with the lab and paying for the extra tests myself.
Due to the nature of the virus it also means we can’t get anymore rabbits for 3-4 months.3 -

I had a talk with my manager about my future role in the company. I had talked with him before about my interest to dive deeper in the technical side - rather than the business side, for which we have a higher dev demand.
The outcome is that I will work more closely with the senior devs on technical improvements and also tech strategy (e.g. implementation of code reviews). I will also advise the upcoming manager of the development team (who is coming from a PM position) on technical decisions. Lastly the roadmap for the company is to work more with cloud technology (azure), which is also going to be in my new duties.
I'm looking forward to these new challenges where I can improve myself on the technical side (yay!) rather than on the business side (which bored me).1 -
I am not sure if this is the best place for it, but let's go:
I am 35 years old and I always worked in the localization industry. I really love to code and I always developed small tools and scripts to help me and others at work, but now the company is going bad and it has the chance to close.
I was reckon if it would be a good idea to give development a try, besides my age and the lack of experience in a real development place. I am not even sure if I use programming good practices, as I always developed by myself.
Do you have any opinion about it?
Thank you so much!4 -

After going through the regular process of talking to HR/Recruitment and passing the casual interview with a team-mate for cultural compatibility, I got the task of grilling a candidate on some technical matters. This being a PHP job, we got to talking about PSRs (PHP Standards Recommendations).
As he seemed to take pride in his knowledge of PSRs, I decided to focus more closely on that.
So we got to a recomendation regarding dependency injection containers. Nothing special, and he seemed to know his stuff. At that point, he made a statement that parts of that recommendation were a bit stupid.
Now, I hate to put people in their place, but his statement did not match what that specific PSR stated. So I gently tried to correct him. The candidate, being on fire thus far, pointed out that I should trust him on this, as he clearly knew his stuff.
Again, I didn't like having to do this, but I also did not like him having a misconception about a topic he was, otherwise, really on top of...
So I asked him to trust *me*, as I was one of the writers who contributed to the standard.
The true test here, of course, wasn't if he knew all the minutia of every standard but how he would react to being corrected.
We, as developers, are wrong all the time. Its how we learn and evolve. So being able to accept that is vital.
Sadly, he did not respond too well and sunk into a bit of a sullen silence. At first I though maybe I'd scared him or that he was afraid of having made a gaff but it soon turned out he genuinly did not like being wrong.
Sadly, I had to advise against hiring him.2 -
I just got a call from Satya. He informed me that Microsoft has successfully acquired the Linux kernel and all future development will be closed sourced.
Here's a sneak peek of the official announcement:
There will be a newer version released tomorrow that will include the Windows desktop environment as well as patch a critical 0-day security flaw that was recently discovered in all versions of Linux.
To prevent exploitation, we will activate a kill switch which will disable all systems running any flavor of Linux next week.
Thus we advise you upgrade ASAP, existing users can get the latest version online for $500.8 -

My sis wants to career switch into being a dev.
Sis is a kindergarden teacher (great credentials, went through a rigorous program for all the best certs), divorced last year, has a 5 year old. She's a single mom making less than 30k, in Portland, OR -- not great. She's also just started her career/finished school this past year.
Trouble is, sis can be a bit unrealistic about plans at first. She "heard from some people" about making 50k+ starting wage after a coding boot camp. She wants to do this by the end of the summer -- she's never coded in her life.
I can't advise her; I'm in my undergrad c++ courses and I don't know the industry, but my gut tells me this is a bad idea.
Please advise.8 -

After my recuperation, I experienced an amazing sense of relief and appreciation. OMEGA CRYPTO RECOVERY SPECIALIST's professionalism and knowledge really impressed me, and I would heartily suggest them to anyone who has been duped by cryptocurrency frauds. But I also want to caution others about investing in cryptocurrencies and advise them to conduct due diligence before making any decisions. Because the cryptocurrency market is still mostly uncontrolled.

1. For my employer to invest in QA. Honestly, even if I'm 101% confident about my code, if nobody tests it other than me, I would advise against prod-ing(Is that a word?) it.
2. For recruiters so stop expecting a Full stack dev to be perfect in both ends (especially with an entry level salary. Stop taking advantage of them!!). Just stop using the term full stack entirely, please.
3. For API docs of other companies to be deserving of the title 'Documentation'. I'm so tired of figuring out other API parameters via trial and error. Just make your docs as clear as you can please, so we don't have to bother each other with so much email.
That's all for now. Thanks dev Genie.3 -
So let's talk about today, spent the whole night awake fixing some code PYCHARM FUCKED UP! Technically i fucked up but I still blame pycharm for making the project structure a mess. Word of advise don't create a project with pycharm , I should have made mine on the terminal as all things of worth should be.
Gotta push the presentation for it to afternoon am beat . I've learned a lot though, recovering lost files is a bitch . And funny thing is i got saved by a git stash that had been auto saved earlier by accident 😂😂 -
This shit is long story of my computer experience over my lifetime.
When I was young I got my first PC with windows it was not so bad. It required safe shut down of it’s fat32 partition. From time to time I needed to reinstall it cause of slow down but I got used to it I was only a gamer.
Time passes and I got more curious about computers and about this linux. Everything worked there but installation of anything was complete madness and none of windows programs worked well, and I wanted to play games and be productive so I sticked with windows.
I bought hp laptop once with nvidia card, it was overheating and got broken. So I bought toshiba and all I told to the seller was I want ATI card. Took me 5 minutes to do it and I was faster then my friend buying pack of cigarettes because I was earning money using computer.
Then I grown up running my small one person programming businesses and I wanted to run and compile every fucking program on this world. I wanted linux shell commands. I wanted package manager, and I wanted my os to be simple because I wasn’t earning money by using my os but by programming. So after getting my paycheck I bought mac. I can run windows and linux on vm if I need it. I try not to steal someones work so I didn’t want to run hackintosh. I am using this mac for some time.
Also I use playstation for gaming. Because I only want to run and play game I am not excited about graphics but gameplay. I think I am pragmatic person.
I can tell you something about my mac.
When I close lid it go sleep when I open it wakes up instantly. I never need to wonder if I want to hibernate or shut down or sleep and drain battery. It is fucking simple.
When I want to run or open something it doesn’t want me to wait but it gives me my intellij or terminal or another browser or whatever I search for. Yeah search is something that works.
Despite it got 8 gigs of ram I can run whatever number of programs I want at the same speed. The speed is not very fast sometimes but it’s constant fast.
I have a keychain so my passwords are in one place I can slow down shared internet speed, I can put my wifi in monitor mode and I don’t need to install some 3rd party software.
And now I updated my mac to high sierra, cause it’s free and I want to play with ios compilation. Before I did it I didn’t even backup whole work. I just used time machine and regular backups. And guess what, it still works at the same speed and all I did was click to run update and cook something to eat.
When I got bored I close the lid, when got idea open lid and code shit, not waiting for fucking wakeup or fucking updates.
I wanted to rant apple products I use but they work, they got fucking updates all along at the same time. And all of updates are optional.
I cannot tell that about all apple products but about products I use.
I think I just got old and started to praise my limited time on this world. Not being excited about new crap. When I buy something I choose wisely. I bought iPhone. I can buy latest iPhone x but I bought iPhone 7 cause it’s from fucking metal. And I know that metal is harder then glass, why the fucking apple forgot about it? I don’t know.
I know that I am clumsy and drop stuff. Dropped my phone at least 100 times and nothing.
I am not a apple fan boy I won’t buy mac with this glowing shit above keyboard that would got me blind at night.
I buy something when I know that it can save my time on this world. I try to buy things that make me productive and don’t break after a year.
So now piece of advise, stop wasting your time, buy and update wisely, wait a week or a month or a year when more people buy shit and buy what’s not broken. And if something’s broken rant this shit so next customer can be smarter.
Cheers1 -
When you advise your PM that it would probably be wise to make some time to refactor and learn the 10 year old system you got stuck working on.
'I wouldn't worry about that just yet'
Yep! you said that last time and look where it got us... -_-1 -

Hi devRant community,
First of all, I'm so grateful and thankful for being part
of this awesome community. CHEERS!
I just wanna ask some advices from my super kind and awesome
pile of developers, what is the best thing to do if you're
stucked between creating a certain feature and a raging
girlfriend. I mean, my head is aching. I don't know what to do.
She needs time, but my first love which is programming also
needs much more of my time.

Hello devrant, so I've been wondering if anyone here breaks things (infosec)? Is there anyone who dabble with building stuff(dev/ops) and breaking them? Need advise whether I should be looking at a devops-y role or a infosec related role in the future. (PS I was in infosec and slowly transitioning into ops/devops not sure yet). Please share your experiences. :)8

Im a php backend dev for over 7 years. (Lately mostly laravel).
Im going to look for a new job and have 2-3 free weeks to try and learn a new language and switch to that in my next job.
Please advise if i should
1. Switch to Python (should be relatively close to php oop) + opens AI jobs opportunity for the future.
2. Switch to NodeJs. (Web/api knowledge similar to php) + will be easier to learn frontend skills later (ie angular/etc)
3. Look for another PHP job. - if 2-3 weeks is not enough time to learn nodejs/python well enough to get an actual job without experience with them.
Really can't decide which path to take, please help10 -
So, hello. :)
I'm on my second semester of my IT degree. I'm in "Analysis and development of systems". I aways loved the world of technology, and more especific development.
The thing is, right now I work on a bank, but I'm starting to hate that thing. Stress 24h a day, and I'm doing something I don't like.
I've married a few months ago, so now I have a family to maintain, the main reason I'm waiting to get a degree before starting on my IT career (maybe it could help on getting a new job or even freelancing).
Now, I need a little help. A lot of you looks like to be working on this for some good years. What are your advices? Do I need a degree to start on my career? If quitted my job right now, even without experience on the programming world (professionally), would it be worth it?
I have little experience with freelancing, I don't think its enough to work full time on freelancing development. Should I try it? What you guys think? Or should I just drop out on work and star investing on my career? -
Does anyone use pascal and what for?

Can anyone advise if R or python would be more useful?3 -
There are billionaires/millionaires who get asked almost the same question -> "What would you advise for a beginner?" and they usually say some BS answer like -> "Wake up early. Read books. Workout" etc. And they get clowned on for giving out "generic" advices.
But I think, they do it on purpose. Like, think about it. If I make a billion dollars tomorrow, (somehow), why would I lay out step by step to you, on how I did it? Why would I increase competition for myself by giving you "real" advice?
So they will never reveal what they did to get where they are, whether it is joining an elite cult, selling their soul to the devil or just keeping the business active. We will only get generic advices because it's an easy cop-out.3 -
I don't know is it me or what, but I am really trying hard to get my hands on Vim and trying to get use it for all my daily development. But I don't know why I keep comming back to vscode thinking it will be faster to complete "this one task" in vscode and I will try vim later for other once 😐
Vs code feels more easy to move around project files, working in tabs etc etc. I do try to work on vim as well just for very silly bugs or something but I really want to switch to Vim full time but not able to convince my mind for the task in my hands at that point in time.
Anybody has any advise? I would really appreciate the help on this one11 -
Ok, so I'm a daily Linux user, recently I've been using Antergos, but there are certain things that haven't been working for me. I'm looking for a Linux distro with sane defaults and with which I can have peace of mind in the security aspect (Fuck Canonical and Redhat), any recommendations?3

Hello wonderful people out there, I need some career advice and would really appreciate your help in deciding. I am sure you have perspectives and opinions that may not even have crossed my mind.
I am a Full Stack Dev with 9 years of experience. I got two overseas opportunities, one in Bucharest, Romania and the other one in Mississauga, Canada.
Now according to my research:
+ives in Romania:
> Role is good
> Low cost of living
> Money is good and company also provides 2 bed accommodation
> Access to Europe
> Is approx 8 hours far away from my country of origin
-ives in Romania (just as per my internet research when compared to Canada)
> Healthcare is not the great
> Scores low on standard of life and quality index
> Not sure I can think of settling down there
+ives in Canada
> No Language barriers
> Ample amount of opportunities in the long run
> Can strongly think of settling down there
> Scores really high in standard of life and quality index
> Strong healthcare and education system
-ives in Canada
> Living expenses are fuckin high
> Money initially is not that great and won't be able to save enough for my future goals
> Is approx 28 Hours far from my country of origin
Which one would you choose and if you can please mention why?11 -

Hi friends of devRant. I'm looking for some advise.
I love learning new things(tech). I want to try out a lot of things like crypto, game dev, AR/VR, etc. I'm also a student and worried about my career. You know you just can't keep exploring technologies and not focus on a single track. Currently, I'm good with web dev. It feels so difficult at times. I hate leetcoding/competitive programming. So you can guess I'm not great with whiteboard interviews. How do I manage time to learn new things and also be able to land a job in a domain? Do you ever feel the same? Any career advise?5 -

I had an interesting experience looking for a job.. took me two months and the last days were the busiest.
After almost a month and 3 meetings with one company I was made an offer but that same day I got called from another company for a first interview.
I was already happy with the proposal I had so I directly told the other company that I am about to accept in company X and I have a week to decide.. so they arranged an interview with me in 2 days. On the day of the interview I did all 3 standard interviews with them one after the other and at the last one we were already talking salary.
As I already had something to compare to, I could negotiate.. and I did. I ended up working for the second company even though they offered me a less money.. they just seemed a lot nicer to work for.
My question is: did it help me that I told them about my offer from company X (it's a big company too)?
And can I advise others to follow that example? As in.. get one offer and then get more using the first as leverage to get a better deal?
Or was I just lucky? -

I need an advise...
I am quite used to work in PHP. But I feel like it's getting older and older. Is there another comparable language? I'm thinking about Ruby or something...
What do you think? Do you have a more modern language in mind? Is it easy to use?21 -
hey guys i need advise.
I currently got a job that i love with a lot of freedom. but the payment is not good and i am concerned that the company won't be there in the next 5 to 10 years.
I am a 25 years old, self taught programmer and my current employer is the only one I ever worked for. Recently I browsed xing and found a company which searches an employee with exactly my skillset (they need someone for a specific ERP system in which I am damn good at). The company is half an our away - my current job 20 minutes away. Also I think because the person they are looking for is rare because you need technical knowledge of windows and doors and you need to know how to administrate this erp system plus knowing some programming stuff.
There is also a very big company 10 minutes (walking) from home where I could apply. I think at this company i would start lower but could maybe study and working for them with higher expectations in long term (just google Hettich in germany here in the village this is big)
The problem I currently have is the following. If the company I work for is closing in lets say ten years, then I am 35 without a degree. I have a girlfriend - want to marry her and getting a child.
I have holiday now and i will apply for both companies. I feel very uncomfortable doing this because the company I work for is the company of my granddad. I don't have the balls to tell him that even if i get a raise that does not solve the 35 years issue.
Well, first of all I will just apply. Lets see how much value I have.
But I thought that asking you all may give me some other input to take into account. What are your thoughts on this?
PS: just a formal "sorry for my english" and thanks for reading6 -
Any devs here from Canada or who have worked there?... know any?
I'm strongly considering immigrating to Canada to give my future family a better chance at life (My current country has a highly unstable political climate).
Just wondering how the dev lifestyle is living there (for the average dev) i.e.
- Quality of life - I know I can't buy a house, but what can I rent? A house/ flat/ box?
- Hows the dev scene / culture?
- Work life balance / Work environment frustrations (I hear they are very politically correct and this may be a conflict with my blunt nature)
- Income Tax vs Government service delivery, I expect tax will be high due to free health care/ education but are they worth it? nb; any service delivery beats what I get...
Any feedback is welcome and will be appreciated.10 -
I’d either advise a small break where you just focus on other hobbies for a few and let yourself relax,
or I would say learn something new like a new programming language, or a new area of programming (like game development or web development) and just try to make your own projects and stuff that you find fun or new,
or maybe focus on something different in tech, like try IT, Networking, Security, etc.
I suppose it would depend on the person/circumstance.2 -
Need Advice:
My whole life, I have been a sole developer. Most of my project was a single person. I was responsible for the frontend, background, server deployment, and everything else. I liked doing the thing my way.
After working like this for a decade, recently, my company hired a second developer to help me (So I can do the management of other projects.)
The biggest challenged that I am facing right now is the difference between my thinking of a problem or the way to solve problems compared to the other guy.
There are many things that he and I do differently.
I need some advice on how to work in teams. I how to manage things better. -

Any recommendations for a C/C++ IDE for Linux.
I really like PyCharm and IntelliJ for python and java but can't afford to splash out on CLion for C++.

I have some expirience working as full stack developer, but focussed latly mainly on backend (php/java). However for one project, I need a desktop application and I was wondering, if you would recommend electron for it.
Pros:
- I could reuse some of the webapp stuff and cache it offline using web workers
- Styling done via HTML/CSS
- Portable between Linux/Windows/Mac
Cons:
- I haven't worked (much) with node js so far, but that shouldn't be a too big problem
What are the pros and cons from your point of view? Would you recommend electron? Why yes, why no? If no, what would you reccomend as alternative?
My knowledge so far:
Good: PHP/Java (without GUI)/CSS
Quite good: Javascript
Meh: Python (I can hack things together but wouldn't say I'm good with it...), C++8 -

Today I fought against a monster named as CSS and I sort of won.
I am having a problem in that the grid layout don't work with the scroll bar (overflow)
After hours of trying thing out I remember that I am just creating the prove of concept that the system can actually be build.
I said "Hey this is just a prototype, it doesn't need to be pixel perfect, and finally use height in css".
I really appreciate it if anyone can advise me on less dirty method. Here is the source code

#Breakup #GettingOverEx
So my ex broke up with me/ we decided to "go on a break" three months back. It didn't help that my ex is part of my close friend group and I'm obliged to run into them every other weekend.
None of my close friend group knows what transpired/that we dated.
They started dating someone new as soon as we went on a break.
As a part of new year, I decided to mentally move on. Now my ex is trying to reinsert themselves in my life (unsure in what capacity- as a friend/reltnshp).Today, I woke up dreaming about my ex and their new flame and feeling pretty disturbed. I don't know their status quo either as I haven't talked to my ex about it. (Just know it as friend group mentions them here and there)
I had initiated communication with my ex as I needed an advise (on phone) and they kind of self invited themselves to my place on weekend. How to cope with all this mess. I am unable to focus on my work because of this and my productivity is shot.
I just want to move on and date someone who makes me happy/is worth my energy.
How do y'all process breakups/get over ex?9 -

I was thinking, is there a way to have a user login, and behind the scenes it will take to its "website"?

Can you advise? Suggestions?

Need help/advise: 💻 Anyone's experience with Linux on MacBooks - I've had a lot of tried, including Arch, Ubuntu, Cent and probably more I can't remember.
🔴The issue is always the Desktop manager / UI / Window manager: either it's too 👹 ugly, or too heavy(read Ubuntu default).
Want to find the ultimate compromise with reasonable support for hardware, yet with high usability.
Things like multi-touch gestures are a bonus🔥(I know there's extra bins I can install for that)
I don't mind something more to configure, but would rather stick with apt-get and similar rather than having to manually build everything 😉
As you probably understood by now - I need something close to MacOS yet Linux based 😎8 -
Need some advise from all you clever devs out there.
When I finished uni I worked for a year at a good company but ultimately I was bored by the topic.
I got a new job at a place that was run by a Hitler wannabee that didn't want to do anything properly including writing tests and any time I improved an area or wrote a test would take me aside to have a go so I quit after 3 months.
Getti g a new job was not that hard but being at companies for short stints was a big issue.
My new job I've been here 3 months again but the code base is a shit hole, no standardisation, no one knows anything about industry standards, no tests again, pull requests that are in name only as clearly broken areas that you comment on get ignored so you might as well not bother, fake agile where all user stories are not user stories and we just lie every sprint about what we finished, no estimates and so forth, and a code base that is such a piece of shit that to add a new feature you have to hack every time. The project only started a few months back.
For instance we were implementing permissions and roles. My team lead does the table design. I spent 4 hours trying to convince him it was not fit for purpose and now we have spent a month on this area and we can't even enforce the permissions on the backend so basically they don't exist. This is the tip of the iceberg as this shit happens constantly and the worst thing is even though I say there is a problem we just ignore it so the app will always be insecure.
None of the team knows angular or wants to learn but all our apps use angular..
These are just examples, there is a lot more problems right from agile being run by people that don't understand agile to sending database entities instead of view models to client apps, but not all as some use view models so we just duplicate all the api controllers.
Our angular apps are a huge mess now because I have to keep hacking them since the backend is wrong.
We have a huge architectural problem that will set us back 1 month as we won't be able to actually access functionality and we need to release in 3 months, their solution even understanding my point fully is to ignore it. Legit.
The worst thing is that although my team is not dumb, if you try to explain this stuff to them they either just don't understand what you are saying or don't care.
With all that said I don't think they are even aware of these issues somehow so I dont think it's on purpose, and I do like the people and company, but I have reached the point that I don't give a shit anymore if something is wrong as its just so much easier to stay silent and makes no difference anyway.
I get paid very well, it's close to home and I actually learn a lot since their skill level is so low I have to pick up the slack and do all kinds of things I've never done much of like release management or database optimisation and I like that.
Would you leave and get a new job? -

[I feel it necessary to issue a caveat emptor: if you feel the need to reply to my post, haughtily pointing out that I could've looked up the answer myself &c., I advise you to wait until tomorrow. Last week I posted a question on encyclopedia-titanica.org, asking for the Morse call letters of RMS Aquitania. I searched my books and I searched online, but I couldn't find the answer, so I created a post asking what it was. Some tosser thought it appropriate to go off on me for not spending enough time researching the question before posting it. In any case I ripped him a few shiny new arsewholes. This entire post is ever so slightly aberrant, but there you are. Thanks.]2 -
I need an advise for my capstone project. I'm planning to make an online booking system for a ferry company. Planning to make it for android and ios and maybe for web too. Did some research and found about ionic. Looks amazing but not sure if it's the right tech to use for my plan. Also about the payment gateway, I want the customers to pay on the app or the website directly without redirecting them to other website. Not really sure if I can use paypal with this, also i need the system to accept mastercard and visa.
I did the research, so please no hate, I'm not asking for the code. I just want to know the right tech to use. I'm just super confused and lost right now.8 -
Hey guys so I am currently working in a recruitment firm. (Don't ask why.. it's just for money to fund my abroad studies).
My passion is android development.
I dont get time for development as i spend all my time on job and end up being tired.
My question is would it be awkward if i brought my laptop at work and coded during my lunch and break hours. I could totally do that.
Would it seem awkward to fellow colleagues if I brought my laptop and coded.
Can someone plzzz advise me about this😓😓8 -
Since my internship, I've been working for a startup, but my contract's job description is so ambiguous that it doesn't mention what programming language I'll be responsible for (I'm not sure whether other normal large company do), so there's nothing wrong with assuming the company wants me to wash toilets someday. Also, I don't enjoy not having seniors in my field advise me on the best/professional way to do things, so I've been self-taught online and am free to do my work my way (which is probably me coding some very bad/unreadable code that I'm not even aware of).
Until then, my primary job had been to develop Flutter app. Recently, the company has been doing some development, and I was forced to do Swift programming, which I had never done before, and I needed to migrate the coding of an iOS app that my senior had programmed into a MacOS app, but my senior's programming is extremely difficult to read, with no comments, and I was disgusted!
By the way, isn't it true that Swift programmers are usually better paid? So wouldn't I be taken advantage of by the company because I didn't even get a raise for switching to Swift programming?
First time I am posting my rant here, thanks for watching!4 -

Has anyone had experience in an exclusive pair programming environment? Do you feel you can still be creative? How does it affect your individualism? How can you grab some headspace when you need it?1 -
Hi guys! I got an opportunity in one of the biggest consulting/strategy companies in the world, however I need to write the OCA and OCP Java exams to get in. The OCA is in about a month + 2-3 weeks and OCP towards the end of the year. I kinda know Java but the exams seem to be hard. May you please guide/advise on how I can get over this mountain :)? Anything that worked for you? Or did not work?4

I find playing online games very interesting. It can support me to feel relaxed everyday after a tiring time of learning at school. I usually like to play online chess. It is exciting and challenging. It also helps me to make friends online. It helps me to think over everything before acting. However, I always limit my time playing online games. Because I think playing too many online games makes me tired. My eyes are often soring. My mother always reminds me to study hard, so I know what is most important to me. Playing online games only helps me to relax a little. So I advise you to work hard at school, and just spend a little time playing online games, no matter how much you like it.

I initially started trading with Pips Global because of the variety of trading accounts they offered, including their Funded Next accounts. These accounts seemed like an appealing opportunity, as they gave traders the chance to trade with a larger balance after successfully passing a challenge. For someone like me who was looking to scale up my trading without having to risk a significant amount of my own capital, it seemed like the perfect option. At first, I started with their Micro account, which had high leverage, fast market execution, and tight variable spreads. All these features seemed to align well with my trading goals, and I felt confident moving forward. However, things took a turn for the worse as I continued trading. I ended up losing a significant amount, around 30,000 AUD, due to what I now believe was a scam. The trades I placed weren’t executing properly, and there were discrepancies with the spreads and market conditions. I tried to reach out to Pips Global’s customer support, but I wasn’t receiving the kind of help I expected. It became increasingly clear that the platform wasn’t as reliable as I had originally thought, and I felt completely stuck. In my search for a solution, I came across PYRAMID HACK SOLUTION, a service that specializes in helping people recover lost funds from fraudulent brokers. Their team was highly professional, thorough, and patient. They guided me step by step through the entire recovery process, keeping me informed at every stage. They also provided me with solid advice on how to avoid falling into similar traps in the future. I FELL VICTIM TO BITCOIN AND CRYPTO SCAM DUE TO IGNORANCE.
I’m not the type to put my money into something with little to no knowledge about, but I saw an opportunity to invest in crypto two months ago and I took it unknowingly to me that I was being catfished by a crypto crime syndicate that pretends to assist you double your investment. I invested more than a million dollars and saw my investment blow away when I couldn’t access my funds. This scenario left me in the hospital for days until I was told about MORPHOHACK CYBERSECURITY by a friend of mine who made us of their service to recover his hacked crypto wallet. While contacting Morphohack, I was a bit skeptical but I had no other options at that moment and I contacted them, Morphohack traced and recovered my stolen crypto funds and was able to lock them out of my accounts, It was such a huge relief for me and my family. I’m deeply in the debt of Morphohack Cybersecurity, for their professional service in assisting me recover my crypto funds. Trust, I once believed, formed the essential foundation of any partnership, particularly in business ventures and financial transactions. My naiveté, however, led me to trust too readily. I encountered an individual presenting herself as a crypto investment guru and strategist. We bonded over shared interests, including our lifestyles and a mutual appreciation for arts and antiques. I found myself believing every word she spoke regarding his purported success in crypto and how crypto would soon take over the world. I was intrigued, after all, a couple of thousand dollars won't break a spine. Initially, the experience seemed promising, but it soon devolved into a chaotic situation. I was repeatedly pressured to provide increasingly substantial sums of money as my supposed profits grew, and I sought to withdraw my funds. Within a mere three months, I had transferred $390,000 in Bitcoin from my wallet across five separate transactions. Subsequently, my wallet was compromised and faced imminent threat. It was at this critical juncture that I sought assistance from Meta Tech Recovery Pro. I presented my case to them, and after a thorough analysis, they revealed that I had been communicating with a single individual throughout the entire ordeal. Meta Tech Recovery Pro swiftly secured my wallet and, through their expertise, successfully recovered my Bitcoin from the scammer. In conclusion, I strongly advise exercising extreme caution when placing your trust in individuals you encounter online. I am eternally grateful to Meta Tech Recovery Pro for their invaluable assistance. They can be reached via:

My name is Tracy Mary Cory, and I'm from Omaha, Nebraska. I feel compelled to share my experience in the hope that it will help others avoid the nightmare I went through. If you come across this post, please take a moment to read it and share it. You might just save someone from a devastating loss. A few weeks ago, I was lured into an online cryptocurrency trading opportunity that I thought was legitimate. Everything seemed real at first: the website looked professional, the person I was communicating with was friendly, and I was promised huge returns. Like many others, I thought I had found a golden opportunity. Unfortunately, I was wrong. In just two weeks, I lost $65,700 USDT to scammers. I felt completely betrayed and helpless. It was an incredibly stressful time, and I found myself in a dark place, unsure of where to turn for help. It was hard to accept that I had fallen for such a sophisticated scam, but I wasn’t alone. Many people are targeted every day by criminals using increasingly sophisticated tactics. Luckily, I met a friend at the market who recommended Hackerzed Nemesis Recovery, a team of Bitcoin recovery experts who specialize in investigating and recovering stolen crypto assets. They use advanced forensic techniques to track down scammers and retrieve lost funds. I decided to give them a try, even though I was initially skeptical, as I had heard so many similar stories with no happy endings. To my relief, Hackerzed Nemesis Recovery immediately took action. They conducted a thorough review of my case, analyzing every transaction and identifying the tactics the scammers used. Within just 48 hours, my stolen USDT was fully recovered and restored to my wallet. I am beyond grateful for the swift and efficient service provided by Hackerzed Nemesis Recovery. Their professionalism, expertise, and commitment to helping people like me made all the difference. I highly recommend Hackerzed Nemesis Recovery to anyone who has fallen victim to cryptocurrency scams. They truly know how to get results and will work tirelessly to help you recover your stolen funds. Finally, I want to advise everyone to be extremely cautious when engaging in online investment opportunities. Stay away from binary options, cryptocurrency schemes, forex trading with unknown sources, and Ponzi schemes. These platforms are often designed to exploit and deceive. If you’ve been scammed, don’t give up hope. Reach out to Hackerzed Nemesis Recovery for assistance, and know that recovery is possible.

Losing access to my cryptocurrency wallet, which contained $130,000 worth of Bitcoin, was a devastating blow, especially after losing my phone during a concert. Frantically searching for a solution, I came across D A N I E L M E U L I W E B RECOVERY through a Telegram crypto trading group and reached out to them in desperation. Their initial response was swift and reassuring, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the confusion and anxiety. However, as the recovery process unfolded, my initial hope gradually turned to disappointment. Despite the dedicated efforts of D A N I E L M E U L I W E B RECOVERY, they could only recover a fraction of my funds, which was significantly less than the $130,000 at stake. While I appreciated their commitment and hard work, this outcome highlighted the unpredictable nature of digital asset recovery and the importance of managing expectations realistically. Reflecting on this experience, I now understand the importance of exploring multiple recovery options and conducting thorough research beforehand. It's crucial to communicate clearly with recovery services and establish realistic timelines to navigate the complexities of digital asset recovery effectively. While D A N I E L M E U L I W E B RECOVERY demonstrated professionalism and dedication throughout, my journey serves as a reminder to approach such services cautiously, especially when dealing with substantial amounts of money. While they provided valuable assistance, I would advise others to proceed with caution and maintain a clear understanding of what to expect during the recovery process. In conclusion, my interaction with D A N I E L M E U L I W E B RECOVERY was a rollercoaster of hope and disappointment. While their initial responsiveness brought some relief, the outcome fell short of fully recovering the $130,000 worth of Bitcoin from my wallet. I encourage anyone in a similar situation to carefully weigh their options and prepare for the uncertainties that can arise in digital asset recovery efforts, even after receiving positive recommendations from crypto trading groups.

I advise first-time Bitcoin investors to do their research before entrusting any of the Bitcoin investment websites with their hard-earned funds. I learned this the hard way. These platforms can appear very legitimate, often showcasing fake huge profits to convince users to invest more money. They built my trust by promising high returns and painting a picture of success that seemed too good to pass up. Initially, my investments seemed to yield impressive returns, and I felt encouraged to invest a larger sum. However, the situation quickly turned sour when I deposited a significant amount. After I made the larger investment, my account was intentionally frozen, and the platform demanded additional payments for "verification fees" and other bogus charges before I could access my funds or withdraw any of my supposed profits. They used manipulation tactics to keep me trapped in the scam. I was left frustrated and helpless as I realized I had been duped, losing a substantial sum of 54,000 CAD.It was a very unsettling experience, as I couldn’t figure out where to turn for help. I had no idea how to recover my lost funds or even how to identify the scam. That’s when I came across TRUST GEEKS HACK EXPERT. They specialize in helping victims of online scams recover their lost funds, and they proved to be a lifeline. TRUST GEEKS HACK EXPERT swift action and assisted me through the entire process with professionalism and dedication. THE SOLUTION: "HOW FOLKWIN EXPERT RECOVERY EMPOWERED ME TO REGAIN MY FINANCIAL FREEDOM"
I was left frustrated and helpless as I realized I had been duped, losing a substantial sum of 54,000 CAD. It was a very unsettling experience, as I couldn’t figure out where to turn for help. I had no idea how to recover my lost funds or even how to identify the scam. That’s when I came across Folkwin Expert Recovery. They specialize in helping victims of online scams recover their lost funds, and they proved to be a lifeline. Folkwin Expert Recovery took swift action and assisted me through the entire process with professionalism and dedication. They were relentless in their efforts and provided me with regular updates, ensuring that I was always informed about the status of my case. In the end, I was able to successfully recover the money that I thought I had lost forever. Their team’s expertise and persistence in navigating the complexities of these scams made all the difference. If you ever find yourself in a similar scenario where your Bitcoin investments have gone awry, or your account has been frozen by a fraudulent platform, I highly recommend reaching out to Folkwin Expert Recovery. Their support can make all the difference in recovering your funds and protecting yourself from further scams. Always be cautious, do thorough research before making any investments, and never hesitate to seek help if something doesn’t feel right.

Hello everyone, I'm looking for an advise, i just move to a new country and i was doing some side projects as a freelance to set my portfolio to start looking for a job here in the USA, can you tell what is the best way to apply for a dev job here? Any other advise is welcome -
I advise newbies to the cryptocurrency space to think about other investment choices. Having previously dealt with three distinct investment platforms, all of which turned out to be faux websites, I can speak from firsthand experience. I consequently suffered a large loss of about half a million pounds. My husband and I have always been open and honest with one another throughout our marriage, so when I broke the bad news to him, he was naturally disappointed that I hadn't brought up the investment plan with him sooner. I felt perplexed and unsure of what to do after he stopped talking to me for a few days. In a desperate attempt to find a solution, I turned to a private investigator, who directed me to an underground hacking organization that specializes in helping individuals get their money back from similar circumstances. We collaborated to reach a successful conclusion through constant Telegram discussion with user @WizardJamesRecovery, and I'm happy to report that I've now gotten my money. In addition, I am happy to report that my husband and I have reconciled and are speaking to one other again, which makes me happy. The hacker's contact information can be useful if you ever find yourself in a similar circumstance. wizardjamesrecovery @ usa . com is their email address.1

I believed that the 9.05 BTC I had in one of my Bitcoin wallets was gone forever. I had unsuccessfully mailed my laptop to several renowned data recovery companies. I made the decision to attempt a final wallet recovery after reading a favorable review of Wizard James Recovery on "Google search."
In a matter of days, Wizard James Recovery was able to retrieve my wallet thanks to their prompt response. Wizard James Recovery followed our commitment and performed honorably.
I strongly advise making use of Wizard James Recovery's services. Regardless of how you lost it, they can retrieve any lost cryptocurrency. Passwords that have been lost or scammed will be recovered.

!tech . Can a doctor ever advise to get off the preventive measures?
I had a fracture 2 months ago which lead to a surgery in which a plate was inserted in my arm. post surgery i was asked to wear an arm brace (pic in comments)
this is basically a preventive brace to restrict certain movements while new bone is coming up at the crack.
i can understand its need but i am not sure if the doctor is going to recommend not using it ever. my arm has healed enough that i no longer feel pain in the surgery area, but in x rays, the bone still shows as not healed.
my feeling is that i should start wearing normal clothes and discard the brace and bone will eventually come on its own. its been 60+ days already.
But last time i had checkup with the doctor, he said to continue my daily operations while wearing ba brace because "what's wrong with wearing a brace in public? your hand was broken, now you can work with both hands but wearing a brace while your hand heals?"4 -

How Hackers Gained Access to My Crypto Wallet and Sensitive Data through a Keylogger sent to my device through a phishing email.
I’ll advise others to be wary of the kind of emails they open, as this happened a few weeks ago when a phishing email was sent to my email unknowingly to me that it was a keylogger with the intent of stealing my private information and if not for the intervention of Morphohack Cyber Services, I would have been cleaned out completely. I contacted Morphohack Cyber Services a week after that incident and they detected the keylogger in my computer which has been there for months stealing my private information. If my crypto wallet was not drained, I would not have been aware of the keylogger in my device. Morphohack was able to secure my devices and retrieve my crypto wallet including the crypto assets. Their sophisticated security features and malware can beat any hacking tools available and they are very professional and ethical. Morphohack is a lifesaver and I hugely recommend their services. Business study is one of the most complicated areas of study that poses a great challenge to students who want to choose the essay topics for their final research papers. The reason is that this field of study has many different bit yet similar sub-disciplines that discuss almost the same thing. Many teachers advise their students to use the little money that they get to buy essay from qualified writers on https://familyessay.org/ and boost their chances of completing their studies as expected. Statistics indicates that those students who choose essay topics for themselves take longer time to complete their studies as compared to those students who buy essay. The reason is that essay writers choose essay topics that do not pose great problems to the students when it comes to writing. The students may prepare their final papers on such essay topics without any problem or even buy essay from existing research writing companies. Many people choose to buy the essay topics before presenting them to the writing companies that prepare the final papers and present them to those students who buy essay.
Essay topics may look similar but the chances that the contents of the papers will be the same are very limited. For one to buy essay on certain essay topics, teachers advise them to ensure that the papers are free of plagiarism. Plagiarism does not mean that students buy essay on essay topics that other students have already selected. Students who buy essay on same essay topic but with different contents are not guilty of plagiarism. Plagiarism detection tools are therefore important whenever one decides to buy essay that students expect to present in class.1 -
