@electrineer I think you're onto something here. I still have nightmares about that "thing".

@electrineer it's the product that handles almost all business related processes on this planet, to the point where certain business processes are adjusted so that they can be represented in SAP software. The big problem is the system of maintenance for these applications. SAP outsourced it all to consultants, which they train for horrendous fees. So none of these consultants are ever gonna share their knowledge, because thats the only thing that makes them valuable(but valuable they are, some of these fucks make medium triple digits per hour)

@EdoPhoenix triple digits per hour?! *looks at paycheck* I am not part of "they" 😑

@iamai I had an interaction with one of these guys at my old job, he once fixed a critical system for the state owned insurance company, billed them 500€ an hour and got his expenses(five star hotel, business flight from munich to hanover) covered. Absolutely insane.

@EdoPhoenix you don't happen to know remember that company? :)

@EdoPhoenix i guess his specialization choice was on-spot + he had the balls and nerve to charge that much, and I bet the same level of expertise and specialization in law or healthcare charge just as much or more. So I say more power to him!

At an expo I once asked an SAP employee what SAP even is, because I was completely unable to find any information on that, no matter what I tried. His first reaction was to laugh, then he took a surprisingly long time to come up with what should be the most basic answer in his job.
