Voyager 1 passes 17 billion miles today. The farthest man made object from the earth today and it's transmitters are still working after 43 years.

I can't even get the stuff I built last week to work right.

    Thats because you are writing your code with shitty nodejs libs

    @Linux "But... They said it was the best in a Medium article recommended by BuzzFeed...!"

    If you had the same budget for the shit you built last week, it would probably last 43 years too

    Sadly, by the time I worked at NASA, most of the exciting stuff was past tense.

    @SortOfTested I think nowadays more of their work is just distributing the US's aerospace budget between the most capable private corps.

    @Lor-inc
    I mean, we did a ton of work and planning and simulation, but manufacturing, totally.

    Mostly subcontractors and getting raytheon to do as much of the manufacturing as possible with meth addicts who give you creepy looks as you make your way across the production floor to the office elevators.

    @SortOfTested you worked at NASA? HOLY FUCK!!!!! THAT'S SOOOO AWESOME.

    @F1973 You know, the first line of her biography is literally:

    "I was there, Gandalf, 3000 years ago when the first computer came to be [...]"

    @Jilano wait.. isn't she the gandalf?
  • 2
    @F1973 Hum, I'd say more like Idril Celebrindal

    (And Root would be closer to Lady Haleth)

    @Jilano
    That's the book of Galadriel 😋

    Mine begins, "So there I was, just minding my own business when YHWH (he just went by El back then), he just goes and creates everything! It was blissfully quiet and low key before that. For about 10^-43 seconds there was such a ruckus, then everything calmed down. Eventually some meshugeneh putz who was angry his entourage made a cow statue wrote down something ridiculous like 2500 years, but it was a long time before that happened, let me tell you."

    He's just trolling, the Silmarillion isn't canon #TrueFacts
  • 2
    @SortOfTested who is trolling? Jilano or Gandalf?
  • 2
    @SortOfTested Ha! Should be good enough to "hook them readers"

    @F1973 Yes.
