Why is it that people who can't do anything call the shots? Devs should call the shots and the fuckers should listen.

I deal with this daily. My managers will have 10 meetings about a project and at no point consult me and get any technical input.

Then they present it to me. Sometimes they tell me how I should code it and it's the most backwards asinine way of doing something. They take something that could be simple and make it complex. Usually their dumbest solutions breaks my brain and puts me in a different thinking path further away from the easier solution. I prefer they don't even give me solutions and let me think on something a day or two, but they always want the project now. They can take 2 months discussing it then want it in two days.

They report you to your manager if you try to reason, Saying you are "not passionate". When your pm is also an ex designer you are in for headaches.

Sometimes they are moved up because they cannot code or party, golf... with bosses.
