Because the field is intellectually stimulating, relevant, well paying, and relatively stable. Plus I like making things.
-
kiki353254yBecause I can’t live without doing this. I’m forced to. This is my form of self-expression
-
Voxera115854yFun, I have been in love with computers and programming since I was around 7 years old
And I have the luxury of working with that as a living
And on top of that it pays well :) -
Money of course but as long as I can live a normal life, I don't care much about the amount as long as I'm intellectually challenged and have a great environment and great colleagues!
-
@RememberMe Maybe this saying has a different meaning then? I mean this as having to use my brain a lot in complex but very interesting material.
-
@linuxxx indeed. It's an euphemism. https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/...,)%20Of%20low%20intelligence%3B%20stupid.
-
@linuxxx Lol, do you mean "intellectually stimulated". Yes, you can read "intellectually challenged" both ways.
-
Root825994y@linuxxx
“X-challenged” = “Fails at X”
Therefore:
“Vertically challenged” = short
“Intellectually challenged” = idiot -
@Root @Demolishun Yeah got it now. Not sure how to properly describe this but I guess you get what I mean :)
-
@Demolishun I get that its a joke but I think this is more of a literal translation thing as literally translating this from English to Dutch would get the meaning that I meant :)
-
Root825994y@Demolishun The new retarded is “minimally exceptional”. Everything must sound varying degrees of positive because negatives might hurt someone’s feelings.
Fucking hell. -
Root825994y@iiii I think I’m emotional challenged. I don’t really understand them, and don’t really have them either.
-
I need the money and actually like coding. So it is the least of all evils to do just that.
I would still code without the need to get money. But i would also game and do other stuff a lot more. -
Bubbles68264yGenuinely love programming, the fact I can use it to make things that are useful to me or friends, and money
*not rant related*
