Got my new gear -- HP Omen 15 2020. Switched to windows after 6 years.
And boy, isn't WSL (Win subsystem for Linux) a GREAT thing.

FYI, I was previously using 1st gen Pentium with 3GB of RAM runnig Linux Mint. You can understand how I feel. 😀😀

    Odd numbered amounts of ram just don't sense.

    @N00bPancakes it originally came with 1. Then I added extra 2.

    Omen? What an odd name

    Have you tried mint on this one?

    Some people just do anything to not become mainstream.
    Microsoft switches to Linux -> you switch to Windows...

    First gen Pentium? Like from 25 years ago? I don't think they put those into laptops. Also, 3GB of memory would have been far, far beyond the reach of any desktop or laptop at the time.

    @bahua Pentium P6100.

    Might be a slight upgrade from a 60 MHz processor

    So the first and foremost thing you like about Windows is the Linux subsystem. Why not use native Linux and see the system really fly?
    This is a genuine question. Why do you need Windows?

    Even though WSL2 is a lot better (amongst others because you use better filesystems) you still lose a lot of performance.

    Yeah I think it's one of the relaunched Pentiums

    This one did not support any type
    of ram produced in gb. I had one of the 66mhz in a IBM Aptiva
