My dad thinks keeping old messages in whatsapp can make his Moto G4 phone hang.

He just doesn't understand when i try to convince him it is technically not possible and deletes old messages one by one everyday

Well technically, your dad has a point. Let's say your dad's mobile has a limited space left, at this point new whatsapp messages including images, audio and videos can indeed make the phone very slow.

@tahnik i knew someone would say this, which i understand but he also deletes simple text messages too on top of that.

The phone has over 50GB free space. And it's not a Nokia 3310 to be concerned over space took by text messages
