Now we know that when we use spaces, we die.

In Python it is recommended to favor spaces over tabs. Some js style guides also recommend 2 space indentation. So when I find someone ranting about spaces I simply don't understand them. How can you not like spaces?

Personally, whatever Sublime does for me. 😍

I don't want to know I'm not dead

@bb6xt Respectfully, It is more typing, harder to spot indentation issues, harder to parse, and takes up just a tiny bit more of your storage

@conic with most text editors you can set your preferred indentation to tabs or spaces. I can't see how using spaces leads to more typing. In Python spaces are generally preferred. And since mixing tabs and spaces throws an error, it is especially important that you choose one and stick with it.

Using tabs is like pressing page break on word, using spaces is like pressing enter until you get to the next page

They both work, but we all know that we should press that page break button. :)

I just made it so when I press tab it prints 4 space. But honestly I could care less which you use. Just use auto formating to fix it up to the correct style.

I swear to god ww3 will be a cyber war triggered by this god forsaken argument.

The real question is: hard tabs or soft tabs?

Tabs are always easier. But your environment shouldn't give any fucks about that.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! The tab character exists for a reason, fu**in use it <3

    set tabwidth = 4spaces

@jsmrcaga yeah. For me it exists pretty much solely for use in MS Word documents.
