Well we focus on different languages each quarter, we're in web/mobile development, so we focused on PHP, JavaScript, C++ like Arduino, TypeScript, etc. Each language offers different possibilities, that fit into different projects.
Find out what your project needs and try to use the corresponding language. This allows you to learn a lot of new things which you can use to build new things. -
C++ for algorithms. C# for projects. My program focused on game development, so XNA and Unity were the platforms used.

Solid1808y@Trey50Daniel same. CS 1 is taught in Python, but everything else is Java or C++. I guess there is a little bit of C# too. Mostly it seems to depend on what the professor prefers.
