Indigoblin04yKnowing the ridiculous price for being a student in the us, the professor is pretty much selfish.

Well, I guess it's not clear from my rant that this was only the official version as he mentioned that website out of the blue (without anyone asking for it) and it was more or less like, "I am not allowed to advertise these websites, so I will officially recommend against using it"
He even posted that website in the chat so that we know which website to not open by accident -
Happened to me as well.
While it was an unofficial meeting, but we had a professor of a police academy as a guest, who totally agreed to better not visit scihub to get access to all the free papers. -
Btw, that might actually be untrue. Receiving material that someone is distributing without permission might not be illegal where you are.

Downloading pictures of your mom, illegal because of content, not because of copyright...
Note: this is the generic "your mom". Don't take it personally. -
@halfflat that was impressively authentic. Do you write spam messages for a living?

@halfflat I cannot tell if people are saying "dont go there" or "dont go there <wink>". Is this a trap? This is a trap!
Our prof told us today in a zoom lecture: "Never visit b-ok.org, it is totally illegal", with emphasis on how he would NEVER recommend to visit that website for free education illegally.
I guess he is totally against the idea of pirating educational material
