Am I the only one here who hates it when people call Node.js a programming language?!

    I hate the one who claims he is the best at coding because he codes html and css.. Not even JS

    Sometimes people use "node.js" like speaking about programming lang not cause of their lack of knowledge, but cause of lack of knowledge of people they speak to. Sometimes its easier just to make some decisions or explain something. But yea i hate it too. Btw. I've met people who believed that node is js framework, lol

    @Synth-Synapses JavaScript is definitely a family of implementations. That's why there's not just one central place where the language interpreter gets worked on. The closest thing to it is TC39

    I also hate that and I'm starting to get tired of "Node.js is the only true dev language" which is completely stupid.

    @linuxer4fun but I am a hacker 😱, seriously though I just had to gain admin rights on this server because this tosser wouldn't let me FTP even though the client wanted it ...

    @linuxer4fun technically, it's a runtime environment. But since the definition of framework is a little fuzzy in my mind, I have no answer to the exact question : why isn't it a framework.

    @linuxer4fun runtime environment for javascript. It does have its own global variables and thats it. The rest of stuff is pure javascript. There are libraries though and there you can find frameworks, such is express
