@poster983 there's a good wiki page on recursive acronyms and what a lot of them mean! It has a whole computer based section too.

Php is php hypertext preprocessor

Though if you look into these a lot of them are "backronyms" that have either made the acronym to fit there already chosen name or somewhere down the line changed their minds

GNU HURD will blow your mind.

GNU = GNU's not Unix
HURD = HIRD of Unix Replacing Daemons
HIRD = HURD of Interfaces Representing Depth

@syssykat Maybe, but a Gnu is an animal, a type of wildebeest, I think, but don't quote me on that. So it probably made for creating an easy mascot to have something that fit like that too.
