I've been watching that "Mr Robot" lately, and its warped my sensibilities. Now, whenever I see something ridiculous, like "I've got the hard drive here" (holds up PSU), I'm irrationally angry and won't watch the rest of the show. I wish more producers would spend the time to build that sort of realism

    I heard somewhere that the writer was an ex-security bod so it does explain the realism :P

    my last episode was, when the guy walked into a "secure" datacenter eith a raspberry PI in his pocket.... how?
    also there's network cable in the bathroom? feeling like living in the dark ages... wait! we are!

    As far as I can remember, it was a semi-public area, so security wouldn't be that high. Also, since we live in the IoT (yuck) world, it makes sense tgat thermostats / environment controls are network connected.

    If it makes you feel better, most of these wildly inaccurate tech snafus are on purpose, they are inside jokes.
