Anyone have a Sacred Code regarding unattended computers at work? We love pranks in my office, but we also have a strictly adhered to code if someone needs to leave their PC unlocked to run a script or something. I've threatened to murder people who tried to mess with people's PCs who were running things. The Code is very important.

If anyone leaves an account logged in (I.e. Facebook, google etc) it's fair game, but we never dick around with people machines, that's just not cricket.

Desktop backgrounds are fair game, although we no longer do this because it pissed the bosses son off.

I like taking a screen shot of the desktop, putting all folders and fikes on desktop into one folder and setting the screen shot as the background

In a company I used to work, if you left your computer unlocked you were lost. Someone would send an office-wide email on your behalf offering to buy croissants for the afternoon or next day, or perhaps ice cream. They could also change the wallpaper to a NSFW image, or open a meatspin or nyancat or another NSFW or just annoying page or video on your browser. It was a game development company, so juvenile humour was part of the deal.

We have a rule in our company, that if you leave your computer unattended, you pay 4$ to the pool. When the pool gets big enough, we donate the money to charity. That way, we motivate employees to lock computers (safekeeping of customer's data) and we don't destroy anything. The "prank" basically becomes "HA you have to donate now"..
