Kind of crapgasmic specs. Wonder if they sold it in japan for Xmas.

@SortOfTested Im a console monkey 😁 so 240 fps at 4k is damn impressive...depending on the game and it’s settings that is

Not sure what gpu is installed

Even if it has a good graphics card (which seems sus), it's a hodgepodge of weird, unoptimized shit.

The core is a NUC Compute element with a laptop CPU and high latency ram. Even if you use a desktop graphics card, you're still going to bottleneck against it. They're also using firecuda sshds that run on a sata III bus at sata II speeds because they're low power storage.

This is a marketing stunt. I highly doubt it does 240fps at anything, much less games.

It’s kinda nasty to bake chicken on a console, especially fast food. You then have to clean your console when you’re done and keep all the nasty bird germs out of the circuits. And chickens are grimy to begin with, even though I enjoy them

@SortOfTested with those specs, we can agree with @JustThat that this chicken machine can run Pong at 4k 240 fps lol

    It warms chicken?

    @N00bPancakes yes, it warms chicken

@SortOfTested even with great specs, who’s going to buy tech from a fast food restaurant? KFC isn’t a tech company that hires brilliant engineers, but I’ll admit its chicken is super tender and tender dark meat chicken never gets old! Never understood the appeal of white meat, it’s tasteless and hard to chew but people seem to like it 😬. Would tree bark become just as popular? I wouldn’t be surprised

    > even with great specs

Pretty sure she laid out exactly why they are not, in fact, great specs lol

@junon no, I meant even if it had great specs in terms of cpu and gpu horsepower it wouldn’t sell well bc it’s from a fast food restaurant selling carcinogen flavored meat products

@d-fanelli Oh I see, my mistake. I misinterpreted it.

@junon no problem! It happens to everyone!

Perhaps you've made some peace with the idea that technology manufacturing is going to ultimately divert thousands of tonnes of plastic, rare-earth metals and other variously toxic materials to land-fill.

Call it a decent gamble: the societal and scientific advancements it enables may one day offset the cost and undo the damage.

Then along comes a project like this: one that just screams 'waste of resources' from the beginning, destined to be unsupported, a pure gimmick: It's just completely vulgar.

Yeah I'm a kill-joy on this one; can't see it any other way.

technically this would raise the console's power efficiency if the heat the parts give off is what heats the chicken.

(also i keep hearing the rumor of "the kfconsole will use an overclocked RTX 3090", which further supports this idea of the components themselves heating the chicken.)

@Parzi The landing page states that's what it does.

@junon i've given it exactly as much thought as i think it deserves, i'm not gonna go read what's probably an ad about it on cooler master's website

I must admit that it is a novel concept for dealing with waste heat in a modern computer system.

Does give new meaning to being "fried" after playing too many video games.
