Am I the only one whose brain fully stops when going through an emotional rollercoaster? And then the same brain tries to find escape and fucks up magnificently by causing unnecessary drama?

In fact, I just wish to be able to focus on work and stuff I need to finish, but my fucking brain is not cooperating.

    Fuuuuuck.

    $ man emotional
    No manual entry for emotional

Though maybe Arcana could be nicer for chilling down if you also like the more electro side of gothic:

@Deeyana If you like that, you might also like some of the finest gothic metal straight from the 90s. Like Tristania - My Lost Lenore: https://youtube.com/watch/...

I remember seeing them at the Wacken Open Air in 1999 and getting that CD immediately.

@Fast-Nop thank youuu, I’ll check it out too <3

@Fast-Nop didn't vibe with those rn. Right now, I vibe more with likes of Nightwish, Within Temptation and Anathema.

@NoMad I hope the "old" Nightwish with Tarja. But still, you may also like Tristania as in the YT link above.

@NoMad you'd probably like some of Lacuna Coil, Epics, After Forever . They are all melodic mom scream sphinx metal

Emotions / hormone injections / organism getting high on drugs by itself - if I could pick a drug before my brain orders to produce and inject it to my blood system I would pick morphine.

A guy told me you have to mentally prepare for situations. Athletes do his a lot as well. If you run into a situation and/or foresee a situation that may be difficult. Then make a decision of how you will act in that situation. Things like: When things get tense I will ask questions and try to defuse the situation. When a cat or dog runs out in front of my car I will check my rear view mirror to make sure I won't cause and accident, then start braking. As time goes on you will prepare for more and more situations.

@NoMad Lacuna Coil would fit nicely in that list.

Have you considered seeing a psychiatrist? That sounds awful lot like one of my buddies. He had big-time anxiety that went untreated for major part of his life.

@3rdWorldPoison talk to me when your friend develops depression from the said anxiety 😜

@vane had morphine in past, can't recommend. I personally prefer advil to just about anything else.

Side note, there was a study or two that showed antiinflammatories like advil improved mood during depression. Can't recommend, but I'll bet testing that on myself.

@NoMad Fortunately, he never reported signs of depression. It was just a massive roadblock filled with frustration.

Depression may have different implications, talking of which is interesting but not quite my forte ;)

@3rdWorldPoison didn't get my point. Lots of anxiety leads to depression in long term.

@NoMad I read that study, Ibuprofen and aspirin were the tested ones. Just don't exceed the medical suggested limits and be sure to eat before every dosage to reduce the risk of heartburn/ulcers in digestive system. And be safe

@NoMad On the upside, once you have several ICDs, you can collect them. Maybe even have nicely designed cards for trading, like with the football player stickers that you find in duplos when there's a world championship.
