Imagine being the tech consultant on set.
Director: "Can you make it go beep booop beep wrrrrrr when the thing happens?"
You: "Uhm, computers don't really do that anymore."
Director: "Sure they do. They did in my last movie." -
You are right. We need a term that makes sounds. Typewriter style. With bells on each return. And a wooshing vortex sound when sshing.
Oh! There should also be a pacman eating progress bars.
It should have a retro futuristic look, and the name has to be something like acid_burn or Zero_cool. -
@biscuit no, normally the terminal (especially the TTYs) cant do sound. Not even by Printing 7, the ascii of bell. There are surely terminals out there, wich can output sound, but I never found one... Good thing, I would kill - 9 after thet 10th time hearitg the bell

@Synth-Synapses I know a terminal that makes typewriter sounds on key presses, has audible bells and rings them every time you try to delete something you didn't type yourself(ex. usr@comp:current/dir at the beginning of every line).SHH Vortex voosh and PacMan progress can be scripted. I'm talking about Terminology from the Enlightenment/Moksha DE.

viking817408yI think it was on the Stallone movie where he was on a prison in space, when the guard entered a pin code through door access - they had different tones for each number. Secure for realz.....
How come terminals in most hacking movies have sound effects? :/
