don't feel bad for a second if you are not a designer. you have to know the complete specification, the target audience, you need to have all the text that they want you to place in the app. and then you can start thinking about the wireframe...

all devs suck at good design I think, even a lot of designers suck at it who have learned it for years.

try looking at material design docs, they have some good ux patterns.
