As a Netflix subscriber, don't you feel inundated by new content and the need to binge "since paid for it"? How much time do you spend watching?

Just signed up for 30-day trial and and there are like so many original shows and movies and well in multiple languages. And a separate section for Coming Soon which contained like an unending list of movies and tv series.

I loved Netflix from 2016-2019 when they just threw billions of money to newcommer movie makers who experimented what will stick.
Now i find netflix very boring as everything is messured quantized what pleases the masses. And that is frustrating like linear tv with it's reality tv shows.

And subconsciously i get uncomfortable watching to much of these american style shows.

It's worth for the big budget shows like queens gambit. But there is so much crap on Netflix.

    Netflix originals, without fail
    1) are excruciatingly slow
    2) have surprise hardcore porn scenes
    3) are “diverse” to a fault
    4) are LGBT to a fault
    5) have good acting

So while they usually Have an interesting premise, they’re just not worth watching. And the random hardcore porn is just so awkward and out of place, like it’s there just to be there. It’s awful.

Anyway, to answer your question: really not much at all. I pay for it mostly because my girlfriend’s dad loves horror movies and strangely uses them to go to sleep. He has several serial killers in his ancestry, so maybe he finds it comforting; idk.

For me personally, I leave Netflix on while I’m working. I put on some long-running and really predictable show like NCIS, and watch that when the work gets boring. After a short while of watching it, the work seems much more interesting instead, so it helps keep me focused when my mind wanders. It’s also great while iterating on specs since they take awhile to run and literary anything else is going to be more stimulating than watching some green dots slowly appear. And with how predictable NCIS is, it only takes a few minutes to know everything that’s going to happen in a given episode, so ignoring it is easy. Works wonders for me.

I watch a handful of series on Netflix, it's mostly for the kids and the wife.

I tend to watch more on disneyplus, and now they have the Star offering.... my gawd the hours I'm going to waste 😅

@C0D4 the irony? Usually Disney would be for kids.

But yes I have Disney plus too, find the content though less, more fun.

And the irony I guess it's the tv series I did watch, Lupin, I sorta knew what to expect dune I liked the anime. Movies so far haven't seen on I really liked.

@Root yes tv series especially long running ones that haven't ended yet. would be the definition of slow... The movies I watched I literally fast forwarded most of them doing the story development parts...

And well they seem to expect this as the position slider shows very accurate previews...

I was mostly wondering why Netflix is the most popular subscription, other then it's the oldest.

Yea I got the diversity feel pretty fast. Not a bad thing. They also curse a lot... And a lot of R, MA ratings...
